Default Senator Robert KKK Byrd applauds Bush SC pick

http://www.washingtontimes.com/natio...5719-6891r.htm

And suh-prize suh-prize suh-prize, I actually agreed with something he said:

Quote:
Mr. Byrd embraced the same judicial philosophy as the president in his memoir, "Child of the Appalachian Coalfields," released earlier this summer. In the book, he repeatedly blamed "liberal judges" and "activist judges" for many of the nation's problems.
"One's life is probably in no greater danger in the jungles of deepest Africa than in the jungles of America's large cities," he writes. "In my judgment, much of the problem has been brought about by the mollycoddling of criminals by some of the liberal judges who have been placed on the nation's courts in recent years...The high court's share of the responsibility for our increasing lawlessness lies in two areas -- its zeal for bringing about precipitous social change, and its overconcern for the rights of criminals and its underconcern for the rights and safety of society,"."
A challenge to the oldsters, what television show did that surprise reference come from? LOL

Default Take heart, catzmeow...

...I am encouraged by the poignant lyrics of a song sung in some quarters during the long vanquished last Mid-Century by Mister Muddy Waters.

I May Be Getting Old (But I Got Young Fashioned Ways)

A young horse is fast
but an old horse knows whats going on.

There may be snow on the mountain
but there's fire down under the hill

They don't make songs like that anymore.

Default Gomer

I don't believe Gomer ever said "Sur-prise, Sur-prise, Sur-prise" on the Andy Griffith Show. He was only on the show for a year or so. His first episode was "Man in a Hurry" and final episode was when he first joined the Marines. Don't believe Gomer said "Sur-prise, Sur-prise, Sur-prise" until Gomer Pyle USMC. Interesting...I may have to research it some.
