Default Places not to be terminally ill: England

http://www.di2.nu/blog.htm?20050728

Interesting commentary and links to a chilling story about forced medical treatment in England. So, what if you are conscious yet terminally ill and DON'T WANT the feeding tubes withdrawn from you? In England, a court has just ruled that patients DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT "to demand any particular form of treatment."

So, all you right to die fans, is this where we are headed in our modern era? [/quote]

Default According the BBC link,

Quote:
the GMC had always maintained that no patient would die from starvation and dehydration.
Regardless, as a very strong Right to Die advocate my position remains the same as it ever was: Such decisions are to be made solely by the person dying or his or her guardian. The decision should not be made by doctors or the state.
