Default Iran poised to restart nuclear activities

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...a/iran_nuclear

Quote:
TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian technicians will break U.N. seals on the Isfahan nuclear plant on Monday, allowing uranium processing to resume, a spokesman for Iran's Supreme National Security Council said.

Officials from the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog agency will supervise the removal of the seals, the first step toward restarting central Iran's Isfahan Nuclear Conversion Facility, said Ali Agha Mohammadi, spokesman for Iran's Supreme National Security Council, according to a report from the official IRNA news agency.

Iran's announcement was a setback to efforts by Britain, Germany and France, which have been negotiating with Tehran to try to persuade Iran to drop its enrichment program in return for incentives.
They won't be doing enrichment, and they are submitting to UN surveillance. But Europe isn't happy, and they're considering asking the Security Council to impose sanctions.

Yeah and if the Israelis think it is too dangerous or they get too close they will bomb the crap out of everything even remotely connected to the projects...

I don't blame Europe for being unhappy.

The IAEA and the UN have BOTH already proven they cannot be trusted.

There are too many within both organizations that favor the terrorists......that don't consider them "terrorists"......but consider them "freedom fighters."

It's not fair though. Where's our new nuclear power plants? In this day of the energy crisis, Iran lives where the oil flows all around. We in the US are the ones that should be building nuclear power plants. We have the technology to keep it much cleaner and safer. Nuclear power is the most effecient power that we could use. A nation like Iran can not be trusted with nuclear anything.

To build a new reactor in the USA with all the new tech & safety features you mentioned is still more expensive than using oil at current market value.

Until the day comes when it becomes cheaper for energy companies to build the new reactors, new ones won't happen.

Nah, it's way cheaper in the long run. Oil will run out way sooner than nuclear energy. In case you haven't noticed, oil leads to war.
But you're right, it is a huge investment to start up.

I don't think Iran is any threat to world peace. Looking at the recent history, I see a nation taht has never invaded any other nation.
