I would like to know if there is anyone involved in this forum who has/ would/will send his or her kid to an inner city school. I can assure you that I boogied right out of the city when I decided with my husband to have a kid. It is hard enough to raise a child in the most wholesome environment. I cannot imagine trying to do it in an urban public school system.

I wouldn't but not because of the school system... or the teachers... or the books...
I wouldn't because of the students themselves. I would not want my son or daughter to be subjected to a constant barrage of insults and attacks simply because they would know how to read. I would not force them to attend a school that is more concerned about drug sales, sex, and violence.
I have lived that life and it is just not worth it.
