Default Castro pledges Aid!!!

1100 Doctors could be in the U.S. within a day, as well as 26.4 tons of medicine. This is a must accept deal if the U.S. is serious about helping New Orleans.

I have concluded that the U.S. will welcome this Aid from Cuba with open arms, the last thing the Bush administration needs is to be blamed for playing politics with the lives of elderly and disabled Americans.

Heres the story:

'No offer ... will be refused'
With offers from the four corners of the globe pouring in, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has decided “no offer that can help alleviate the suffering of the people in the afflicted area will be refused,” State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Thursday.

However, in Moscow, a Russian official said the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency had rejected a Russian offer to dispatch rescue teams and other aid.

We should accept the offer and normalize relations with Cuba.

I don't understand why we have normalized relations with Russia, but not Cuba.

Default Castro can take his aid and shove it up his...............

We can take care of our own. Castro and Chavez are just using this as an opportunity to try and gain some unearned respect from the American people. They know that our government will probably look at this the same way that I just stated, so it is just empty propaghanda. We do not need murderous dictators coming to our aid. He should show mercy to the innocent people he has jailed for no good reason. They need it more than we do.

Of course, I could be wrong?

Default Go to hell Castro

We can and should take care of our own. We do not need "26.4 tons of medicine." from Cuba or any Communist country. Where did you get that figure ? Who ever heard of any serious offer to a disaster being made with a figure in tons down to the .1 in specifications. That fact alone makes this offer sound like a bull story to me.

Tell Castro to go where dead Communists do, to Hell !!!!

"In July, Cuba declined Washington's offer of humanitarian assistance in the wake of Hurricane Dennis, which killed at least 11 people in the communist-ruled island. "

So, why did Cuba decline our offer for assistance in July?

Besides: we don't need doctors and medicine. Senator Frist said this the other day. We have plenty of such help. The only problems have been in distributing the help in a timely fashion.

Castro would be better off helping his own people.

You're right, we should accept the offer and normalize realtions. I'm sure the people of New Orleans would be extremely happy to receive this help, I don't think they care where it comes from.
