Clinton: Government 'failed' people

Monday, September 5, 2005; Posted: 9:49 p.m. EDT (01:49 GMT)

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) -- Former President Bill Clinton on Monday said the government "failed" the thousands of people who lived in coastal communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina, and said a federal investigation was warranted in due time.

"Our government failed those people in the beginning, and I take it now there is no dispute about it," Clinton told CNN. "One hundred percent of the people recognize that -- that it was a failure." (See interview -- 2:32 )

He and former President George H. W. Bush have launched the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund to help raise money for those left homeless by the storm."

I believe it was just a few hours ago when you "raked" me over the coals for "DISRESPECTING" a sitting Prez...

I guess its ok for you to call a "FORMER PREZ" a "SON OF A FEMALE DOG", right?

You know what's sad? Coming from you, I am not even surprised. Not in the least.

Default that's because he's NOT "our" president

Default I hate him

But, if he had said the government instead of our government, I would agree with just about everything he said. But, I have to assume, just as everyone else does, that he meant only the federal government and left the locals governments free from criticism. Egads. Shocker. Gasp. I believe he is being dishonest.

Default I appreciate

that Bush had the b*lls to ask Clinton to help, and Clinton in turn had the b*lls to ignore the senator from NY and step up to the plate.

God, Clinton looks terrible! I couldn;t believe how he appeared in the news conference.

We all need to pull together here. This is what makes us the best country in the world.
