I know the excuse is hindsight and desire to avoid public criticism, but I wonder how Bush would have reacted if Katrina was projected to go straight toward his ranch in TX. It's covenient for him that this one comes after katrina. I am hoping for poetic justice. I notice it is called a disaster area 2 days before it is projected to hit. Why didn't that happen with Katrina? Or did it?

So... Bush is to blame for not doing enough before a hurricane hits... and he is also to blame for doing a lot before a hurricane hits. Basically, no matter what happens, let's just mindlessly talk crap about the biggest scapegoat out there, right?
I don't like Bush, but I think this is crap. If you want to b*tch and moan about Bush, then why not blame him for starting a war, which resulted in loads of civilian and military deaths for both sides, without international permission? I don't think the lack of preparation was Bush's fault anymore than I know it was the fault of the local democratic government.
