Default Water rising in N.O.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ne_katrina_hk2

Quote:
NEW ORLEANS - Water poured over a patched levee Friday, cascading into one of the city's lowest-lying neighborhoods and heightening fears that Hurricane Rita would re-flood this devastated city.

"Our worst fears came true. The levee will breach if we keep on the path we are on right now, which will fill the area that was flooded earlier," Barry Guidry with the Georgia National Guard.

Dozens of blocks in the Ninth Ward were under water as a waterfall at least 30 feet wide poured over a dike that had been used to patch breaks in the Industrial Canal. On the street that runs parallel to the canal, the water ran waist-deep and was rising fast.
Deja vu all over again.

Default Levee Breached.....again!

New Orleans Levee Breached
Friday, September 23, 2005

NEW ORLEANS — Hurricane Rita's steady rains sent water pouring through breaches in a patched levee Friday, cascading into one of the city's lowest-lying neighborhoods in a devastating repeat of New Orleans' flooding nightmare.

"Our worst fears came true," said Maj. Barry Guidry of the Georgia National Guard (search).

"We have three significant breaches in the levee and the water is rising rapidly," he said. "At daybreak I found substantial breaks and they've grown larger."

Default Thank God

The feds overruled Nagin, I can't believe he wanted to send people back there! Can you imagine if he had?! There would have been explosion of news internationally about how stupid we are and they would have been right.

Default What will

Farrakahn say now? Maybe he saw some guys sneaking around planting explosives to finish off the city.
Who in their right mind would ever want to live in this soup bowl? Anybody who wants to rebuild this city is nuts. Its a sitting time bomb and I don't want any of my tax money going to this. Let the city flood and build on the banks and it really will be a New New Orleans. Anyone wanting to get back into the bowl should be required to have mental health screening first.

Default ?

Actually they should just be made to pay for it all next time. When the midwest flooded, I couldn't believe how many people build next to the river...and rebuild.....and then expect the government and taxpayers to bail them out eveytime!!

Heck I don't live in a flood zone. Why I should pay for others to do so.....just so they can have a nice view of the river. How many times do they have to be hit over the head????

Good point, Reb! And I just wonder how much the liberal media will give the credit to the federal government for it? Think they will dwell on this one????? How about those liberal Senators? Think they'll want to make a big issue of it??

I think that news is already out. The question is; how long can we go without someone making another stupid decision.

Default These hurricanes

Have highlighted how utterly incompetent the government is on every level. Nagin, Bush, and about a dozen other high-ranking bureaucrats need to be punched in the face for each horrible decision they've made over the past three weeks.

And I still can't believe Ray wanted to bring people back into New Orleans so soon. Is he really that stupid?

Stop blaming the government. What's done is done. Let's see how many nut jobs want to move back to this swamp. Americans can find better things to do with their money than throw it back into the gutter.
