Default The UN couldn't prove it was carried out by Serbian orders.

The Srebrenica massacre is the largest mass murder in Europe since World War II.[5] In the unanimous ruling "Prosecutor v. Krstic", the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), located in The Hague, ruled that the Srebrenica massacre was an act of genocide stating in its judgement:

By seeking to eliminate a part of the Bosnian Muslims [Bosniaks], the Bosnian Serb forces committed genocide. They targeted for extinction the forty thousand Bosnian Muslims living in Srebrenica, a group which was emblematic of the Bosnian Muslims in general. They stripped all the male Muslim prisoners, military and civilian, elderly and young, of their personal belongings and identification, and deliberately and methodically killed them solely on the basis of their identity.

The question that the UN had to try to answer was Was it authorised by Serbia or was it carried out purely under the command of Ratko Mladić'

Default The United Nations..

You need to abandon these high-ideals and romantasized philosphies having to do with public good....greater good...

The UN facilitates aquisitions for multi-national corporations....thats it...

aside from that they run Refugee Prostitution Rings (DynCorp, I'm lookin at you) vast tri-ad heroin smuggling operations (your on deck COSCO) and occasionally they get involved with Druidic mock sacrifices (Muller!)

Nobody cares about borders.....

what people do care about are vast, underpaid laborers, and cheap material. The UN is profoundly disfunctional, and doesnt really help people...

Since when did the UN, IMF, and World Bank help people anyway??

The UN was DESIGNED to do exactly what its doing right now...people just dont like to admit it..

"The stated aims of the United Nations are to prevent war, to safeguard human rights, to provide a mechanism for international law, and to promote social and economic progress, improve living standards and fight diseases."

"The UN Conference on Environment and Development (the Earth Summit) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 1992, led to the creation of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development to advance the conclusions reached in Agenda 21, the final text of agreements negotiated by governments at UNCED;
The International Conference on Population and Development, held in Cairo, Egypt, in September 1994, approved a programme of action to address the critical challenges and interrelationships between population and sustainable development over the next 20 years;
The Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing, China, in September 1995, sought to accelerate implementation of the historic agreements reached at the Third World Conference on Women;
The Second UN Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II), convened in June 1996 in Istanbul, Turkey, considered the challenges of human settlement development and management in the 21st century.
ICARA 2 or ICARA II: International Conference on Assistance to Refugees in Africa established in 1984"

"The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are to facilitate co-operation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress and human rights issues."

The UN does much more than "facilitate aquisitions for multi-national corporations". [color=green]It was originally designed as a peacekeeping force. It is merely an organization, has has no more corruption than any other organization on this planet.

One might as well say that corruption is an inevitable factor in any organization, no matter how well organized it is.

Default Yeah

I here ya on that Johnny. You're absolutely right. The UN doesn't do much for various and often times undermines things. The UN discussing its original intended purposes is a failure and really had little chance to succeed. Presently, what I want from the UN is to stop telling countries what to do. They usually do this with an agenda. I mean, the day the UN tells us Americans what to do is a cold day in hell.
