Default U. S. Troop Reduction Begins-Reports Arkansas DEMOCRAT-GAZET

But the title of the article is “Iran-backed Shiites admit Baghdad bombing, U.S. says”. The troop reduction part is ¾ of the way down. This was buried on page 6 of the Sunday, November 25, 2007 Arkansas DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE.

http://www.nwanews.com/adg/National/208665/print/

“After battlefield successes against Sunni insurgents, the U. S. has begun withdrawing the 3 rd Brigade, 1 st Cavalry Division. It will be the first brigade not to be replaced since top commander Gen. David Petraeus announced plans to reduce troop levels by July if security continues to improve.
Col. David W. Sutherland of the 3 rd Brigade Combat Team, whose soldiers have been working in Diyala since last November, said all 5, 000 of his troops would be gone by mid-December.

How did I miss this? Where is this in the major media? This can’t be right!!!

Combat Brigade To Leave Iraq
Neighboring Unit to Cover Diyala Province

By Amit R. Paley and Josh White
Washington Post Foreign Service
Thursday, October 18, 2007

BAGHDAD, Oct. 17 -- The U.S. military intends to reduce the number of combat brigades in Iraq from 20 to 19 by the end of this year, the first part of a plan to withdraw thousands of American troops from the war zone by next summer, military officials said Wednesday.

The drawdown will begin when the 1st Cavalry Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, deployed in restive Diyala province, leaves in December and is not replaced, officials said. They said a neighboring unit would assume responsibility for the northern province, they said.

But Iraq coverage is alot lighter then it used to be..

See"something" happenned there.

(more and more of the media is reporting what they have to report about Iraq but its still not as intent bound as when they where reporting death)[/quote]
