Now even the IMF and UN are saying Iraq is getting better...ECONOMICALLY & POLITICALLY..not just Militarily..*slap*

This pretty much undercuts the Democrats across the board..they have and are effectively losing Iraq as an issue in their favor and as of yet they seem fully intent in blithly ignoring that fact.
Now what?..say the UN is just trying to mislead us?

Yeah my bet us an absurd attempt to now delcare what they opposed was successful enough that their retreat policies can now be carried out...sounds dumb just saying it...its already subtley being tested as well.

As for the UN I find it to be only useful in the necessity of it actual existence in international affairs.
Keep in mind Americans made up the foundations(Wilson, Roosevelt) of both the League of Nations and the United Nations..

The USA could* leave it but..it would lose alot of influence and influence is the currency of power. Destabilize the world.
But I would be more content to be not subject to any foreing body no matter how noble the principles.
'We the People' have the principles we like..thanks anyway.
My nation can be allied with Germany etc on its own directly with no third parties..we'll manage.

UN's only coming on its 66 year if you include the WWII years(1942-).


I will say it probably prevented a global nuclear war between the USSR and USA in the 50-80's.

I believe you could say these are basically "stick my nose in your business institutions" that the USA has been able to use to best effect so far.

Duh, how could you, not more good news for Iraq. Hey, have you noticed how few posts this topic has gotten? But I'm sure the left will have to respond with as much negativity as they can. They'll dig through every blog on planet earth to find one soldier, or one Iraqi that hates American freedom and ideals and say, "see, we told you it was a failure".

God forbid Iraq become a free and prosperous society. The left will say, "we need anarchy to show that our side was right, as long as we win against Bush, that's all that matters.
