There is the whole hypocrisy issue of a "family values" republican leading a drunken double life with a bastard-child in virginia...

But hey, when your party is the Holier-than-thou party, offiicals are inevitably going to disappoint.

[quote=submarinepainter;519277]I am sure that child is innocent ,

That doesn't make the congressman's hypocrisy more excusable.

Not like this...
Continue to justify your parties lack of morals by pointing out failures of those of different party. Call a spade a spade my boy, that is what the republicans do. If someone doesn't do what is expected in the Republican party they are normally bounced, in the democrat party regardless of the offense they are defended.

You are basically say that if you expect greatness, failure to achieve it justifies your position that expects the lowest common denominator.

Not at all, all I'm saying is, if you don't practice what you preach, America, on both right and left, is going to hold you to your own standards.

It is entirely possible, and in fact admirable, to lead by example.

It is the height of hypocrisy to try and explain your drunk driving away to police by insisting you were just on your way to visit your secret family.

I personally think the guy is an idiot and should be torn down. But please tell me what you think should happen to congressman Jefferson, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy and so on and so forth. The dems have defended and propped up these people to maintain a majority or power.

It seems you are saying that if you have no standards, you should be able to be unaccountable.

Again, if you have no standards does that mean you are unaccountable?

I'm not engaging the hypothetical, because the premise is that Democrats don't have values.

That's an unprovable, nonsensical, allegation.

What is true is that Republicans, and specifically Vito, rely heavily on talking about the family, what it's values are and should be.

The problem with relying so heavily on that demagoguery is that it makes actions like Vito's all the more reprehensible.
