Default Canadian dollar at par with US dollar.

Thanks to a slowing US economy and a strong Canadian economy, the loonie became equal with the US dollar. The last time the CDN reached parity with the US greenback was in 1976.

This is great news for me, since I am Canadian and spend a lot of my income in the US, either online or by travel.

Ah darn - maybe I missed my window.

Now I'm trying to find that web site again -

You know, the one with all those cute young Canadian liberals looking for war-protester husbands?

Well, goody for you. Keep on spending your money in the U.S.!!! There must be a reason you like our products better than your own country's.

I assume you know deficits in and of themselves don't cause a weakening dollar. It's the level of deficit spending. Which I agree is far too high under Bush and a potential danger down the road.

It's at all an all time low against the Euro, too. The Fed's Rate cut earlier this week had much to do with that. I was a necessary action, but it does tend to hammer the dollar pretty good.

Unemployment in the US is at 4.6% - http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

Unemployment in Canada is currently 6.0% (and that is their LOW end...the lowest in 33 years) - http://www.statcan.ca/english/Subjec...LFS/lfs-en.htm

Median income is also rising:

They are actually the same products. The cost of living in the US is simply lower than in Canada, so its cheaper for people to buy the same goods south of the border.

median incomes are down since shrub took over your country.

I don't believe the 4.5% unemployment rate.
