I know this was directed at nonsqr, but I would answer yes, they are morons too if they are not saying where this money will come from.

If there is a corresponding spending cut, then fine, but if not, this is just another loan. I don't need to loan myself $800.

Well, if you'll recall when W took over, there was a 50/49 split in the Senate with one Independent caucusing with Democrats. In fact, it was so close, the stupid Trent Lott AGREED to "share" power with the Democrats. Then in May of 2001, when Republican Jumping Jim Jeffords single-handedly handed the Majority over to the Democrats without any kind of a vote.....the Dems vowed to block everything Bush was trying to do. By the way, they also then held a one-vote slim majority, but agreed to NO POWER sharing with the Republicans!! Typical Democrats.

Well, it's not being done to help YOU...ONE PERSON....out. It's being considered as a way to get some more spending underway to help stimulate the economy and help to keep it from sliding into a recession. During the year 2000 when things began slipping, most lawmakers urged Bill Clinton to do something similar....but he did not and look what happened. We DID slip into a recession. I guess he was too busy campaigning for Al Gore that year to pay attention to what was happening in the economy.

They still could have passed the bill. They didn't. Never tried. Never even mentioned it in passing. Not a peep. But you know what they did do? Pass another entitlement program and increase spending to record levels. Well done.

Well maybe and this is just a maybe, if politicians would stop manipulating the economy to suit them when election time rolls around maybe, just maybe we wouldn't have to manipulate it when it starts to readjust itself?

Yes, I agree. The Democrats were not only STUPID for it, they were anything BUT willing to work in a bi-partisan fashion. They want it for themselves; just not for Republicans. Fair, isn't it?

RIght - which will increase interest on the debt and lead to another tax increase eventually. Don't you love inevitability?

You have identified the problem correctly. Now do the rational thing and vote for a different party. Democrats and Republicans are leading us to destruction.
