It's more of an effort to buy some time and some energy independence untill a permanent solution can be found.

Here in Florida alone, we have over 30 years worth of Oil off the coast. Or would you rather see that money in Osama Bin Ladins hands, so he can try to kill us again?

What I like about this effort versus the one on American Solutions.com, is that by sending Drill Bits to congress, it sends them a Real Tangible message. If you read the Article, basically, your sending 3 drill bits, one to your congressman and one to each Senator... I've also sent one to my Governor, Charlie Christ, since he signed a "Moratorium" on drilling off the Coast of Florida. Which is pretty stupid, since they were talking about drilling over 25 Miles off the coast. You wouldn't even be able to see it.

In the mean time, China is drilling less than 25 miles off the coast of Florida in Cuban Waters, with a deal they put together with those guys.

Drilling is the most economical solution for the time being. It's not like we are avoiding the fact that oil is not forever, but there is oil here, now, just waiting to be drilled. Why not take advantage of it for today?
