Default Senate OKs CAFTA. What will the House do ???

Can 190 Democrats, 40 Republicans, in the House be swayed ?

Those 190 Democrats and 40 Republicans have announced a NO vote for CAFTA or are undecided.

190 + 40 = 230

With only 218 the CAFTA bill will be killed by the House of Representatives.

So the president has to persuade 13 Representatives to change sides.

Can they be moved to vote YES for CAFTA ??

The vote in the House will be after July 11, so the President of the United States has a lot of time to work on those that are undecided or that can be swayed even if they have announced a NO vote for CAFTA.

I have a SCOOP for you :

On July 5 of 2005, Tuesday, 8 House Representatives have met with the Colombian President and his ministers. A prestigious Newspaper says that they traveled to Colombia. ( But it may have happened in Washington )

I almost could not believe this piece of News. I thought that representatives were extremely busy before CAFTA passage in the House ( if it ever passes ??? )

I found this one :

"Al encuentro asistieron el senador William Thomas y los representantes Devin Nunes, Sam Jhonson, Jerry Weller, Clay Shaw, Ron Lewis, Wally Herger y Stephanie Tubbs Jones."

"El Tiempo" Newspaper :

Another confirmation in "La Republica" :

"La Republica" Newspaper :

http://www.larepublica.com.co/notici...-07-06_12:06am

This Newspaper says that the American Congressmen visited Colombia :

Confirmation in "Portafolio" Newspaper :

http://www.portafolio.com.co/port_se...A-2136256.html

According to "Portafolio" the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committe said :

"You could diminish our intentions of Negotiation if you continue with the maņana, maņana, maņana !!!"

Which means TOMORROW, TOMORROW, TOMORROW !!!

I have more news ( In the English Language ) about Free Trade and Washington Politics, Trade Statistics and Data in my Forum :

http://fashyon.com

I am surprised that we Colombians are so important that 8 House Representatives dedicate so much time to us and extenuating trips. Specially these days in which Washington's Temperature is RED HOT.

Correction : I know that we Colombians are SUPER IMPORTANT but I did not know that Americans knew it too !!!

HA !! .... HA !!! .... HA !! ............. LOL ! !! .... .. LOL ! !! ...... LOL ! !! ....
