Default Agree, but...

The purpose of school is to prepare kids for the "Real World." I'm in high school, and I agree with the proposed idea. I'm quiet in class and make good grades, so I don't fall subject to disciplinary action anyway.

Parents now days treat their kids like glass statues--that will break at the slightest breeze. We can handle physical force, and considering my peers, they need it.

Two of my teachers, though, can control their classrooms with sheer force of personality. Their presence commands respect and we give it to them. I actually am quoting my Civics teacher below.

Good teachers are a minority. That is the real problem. Incompetent teachers could use brute force as a veil for their incompetency. (The kid complains about his teacher to his parents, and the teacher says disciplinary treatment is clouding the child's judgement). Trust me, this happens often in Mississippi, where hiting kids with rulers is still legal (looked down on, but legal).
