Thread: Utah now requires school teach US is republic not democracy!

I can see that happening in the Utah state. However, the rest of the USA has problems with the basics of just teaching simple consepts of math and science.

The thing people need to understand about Utah is the prevelent mormon culture. The state is not going to be able to deal with a massive influx of poor immigrants!

The mormons stress self-reliance. They are going to be very much against any progressive welfare policies to deal with all the poverty entering their state.

Exactly, poor immigrant students can be brainwashed early in life and they will be more obedient to their superiors and their religion. Once they are indoctrinated in their way of culture, they will either be accepted or excommunicated from the culture. In other words, schools will make it harder for people of no color to live in their communities without the indoctrination of religious thinking. Which is what the people of no color want. Eventually, the poor will not be able to afford to live there and they will move to states like NV, where majority of the population is poor and uneducated but yet able to get by in prisions or work for minimum wage in the tourist industry.

With the success of the Polynesion people who live in the State of UT, I see no problem for people of color to obey the culture and cognitive structuring they will undergo as youth.

I was taught in school that it was a democratic republic. I didn't know other schools taught it differently. It would be innacurate to. The US is not a democracy. Hmmm.

I'm sure it appears useless to liberals. We are a republic and a representative democracy. We are not a democracy and no institution in the U.S. is less democratic than the Democrats. Card check anyone?

Utah has a good school system.

Todd, did you get a vote on Obamacare? Did anyone outside of Congress get a vote? Did then Speaker Nancy Pelosi not say, "If no one wanted it we would have still passed it." The U.S. is not a Democracy. Back to civics class for you.

I'm impressed the Utah Schools are having success teaching anything. Perhaps the other State funded school systems can learn a thing or two.

If schools teach that the American government is a democracy they should be stopped. America is a REPUBLIC, that is the form of govt set up by our constitution. We elect officials that run the govt, that is a republic. The fact that we use a somewhat democratic form to elect most of our officials does NOT make the govt a democracy, it just makes our voting democratic--DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This should be a federal law if so many idiots do not already know this, our school systems are sadly lacking.

Liberals want to pretend the U.S is a democracy and was intended to be a democracy so the current push to elect the president by the direct popular vote can succeed and a few huge cities will elect the president with the rest of the country left out.

Redefining is a big part of the left's attack system. Abortion isn't killing. Euthanasia isn't murder. Equality=fairness.

It is only fitting that they teach in a format that complements the religious culture of the State. Dictatorship is a good way to spew out idology on obedient followers. Best to have students not question authority and to obey the teacher. After all, most of the kids want to be teachers when they grow up so they can ride the gravy train of few work hours a day, no accountability, low stress, union benifits, and only work 8 months a year.

Saying republic doesn't explain anything either. Republic just means that you're not a monarchy, basically. Plenty of republics have been blood thirsty countries.
