If the class is what it's described as, I see no problem. Unfortunately I get the feeling if the class is actually taught as a lit and history class... the Georgia Christian parents will be upset. Using the bible as a literary and historical text is (should be) much different from using it as a book of faith after all.

I have no problem with it being taught for its literary, historical and philosophical value - but the contradictions, complete impossibilities, the revisions and alterations should also be taught.

Just don't teach it as fact or the ridiculous assertion that it's "God's word."

Im sorry you feel this way. For millions of us the Holly Bible is the word of the one true God. and I have no problem with it used as a literary text provided:
a) the class is not mandatory
b) the class is not trying to impose the views of liberal or non Christian intructors

There is no law against teaching the Bible as history and literature.
