Default Blatant Self-Promotion

On the topic of elections, what do all of you think of these ideas?

I think he'll have a tough road to hoe, maybe if he got a VP first. But since this was about who I'd like I'd pick him, even if I disagree with him on major issues. I think he'd be good for what we need now.

I think you're right, he could come in as a VP.

Penn Gillette, with Teller as VP.
Then after he loses the next election or leaves office after a sex scandal, there will be plenty of material for another season of B____S___.

Default well, here's my two cents

I'd like to see some real competition in this next election. A real debate of ideas, and an exchange of "real" information that our nation sorely needs at this point. I'm very tired of being forced into a choice between the lesser of two evils (like a McCain-Hillary thing, for instance).

As you say, it's a bit early, but here's what I'm thinking at this point:

Dems - Mark Warner. He's a founding father of Nextel (so he knows business), and he also seems to have done an excellent job on behalf of his state when he was governor. He has a decent financial background, and he's chock-full of good ideas.

Reps - "maybe" Mitt Romney. Not sure yet. He's done some pretty strange stuff in his state, but a lot of it seems to have worked. This latest healthcare thing is pure genius, it's astoundingly simple but it definitely makes sense. He seems like a smart guy. I haven't investigated his financial background yet though.

someone not represented by any corporation or interest group (therefor someone representing working class, society)
and my wish will not come true, because media is corporation owned and they have people on it telling us that government owned media would be like communism and communism like in USSR was infact a corporation thing as well, one big communist corporation, no elections... just like in USA.

Default .

A true conservative (I don't think we've really had one since Ike...).

One that's small government, doesn't expand executive power, follows through with key legislation (Bush copped out on Social Security and immigration), and - most importantly - is accountable. The current GOP has become what they once hated: the stereotypical liberal that blames everyone else for his problems or shortcomings.

So in one word: a paleoconservative.
