It's over, it's done with, let's move on.
What we should really be focusing on, IMO, is how to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future. Clearly, abuses have occurred on both sides of the political aisle. Elections tend to get very competitive, and there are certainly clear legal boundaries as to what types of behavior are acceptable and what types are not. One of the big areas that needs attention is "new technology", and another is the "suppression" that tends to occur regularly with each new election. The latter is firmly institutionalized into existing law, but the former is a new area that requires new solutions. |

Yes, I agree, it's over. We should worry about the next election.
There should be a paper trail to prevent any future voting discrepancies and concerns. When using an ATM machine, a person receives a paper receipt, this concept can also be applied to the voting system. Diebold can make this happen, the question is; would they be willing to do it?

It's far from over when these electronic voting machines have been found to have three levels of security flaws. No election is safe as long as these machines are being installed all over the country without being completely checked out.

Then the fact that it has been proved there are so many ways to hack the machines that you can pretty much chose. Not only that but it was found diebold purposely put it software with back door that were no mistake and could give them or whoever full control of the machines and never leave a trace. |
