Default Canadian elections

That's right, our friends to the North vote today, and a Conservative gov't could win.

For a starter's kit on Canadian govt: www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/voterstoolkit/index.html

More info on the CBC home page.

Default Question

Vote Liberal Party '04. Isn't Martin the Liberal candidate? Or is this for the Parliment?

I have many Canadian friends (as many Canadians live up here in New England) and most of them are upset at how the liberals have run things lately.

We can only hope that the conservatives win.

Default For complete losers

LIKE ME, live results can be followed at http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/electionnight/index.html

So far, its just the Atlantic region, but early on, the Libs have a lead. However, a 20% showing by the NDP could hurt them. We'll see

Default .,.

I heard on the news now that the conservatives won parliament when before they expected the liberals to win by a lot.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!

The Liberal party lost some seats to be sure, but still beat the Conservatives, 135-99 seats. For awhile, the Liberals will run a "minority government" with help from the far-left NDP. No party earned a majority in Parliament this time.

Default .

In Canada, do things run better when no one party has a majority in parliament?

It probably seems like I'm Canadian, but I'm not. I live in Ohio, but was just interested in this.

Anyway, from what I've read, not really.
