Default Kerry Boxes Himself In

"I don't cross picket lines. I never have," Kerry said as he left Mass Sunday night at Our Lady of Good Voyage chapel in South Boston.

His decision came hours after Boston Mayor Thomas Menino called on Kerry to attend, calling the conference "an important event for urban America," and saying the pickets set up by the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association and other union members did not constitute a legitimate picket line.

The big problem here is that if this thing is still unsettled by the Democrat convention.....Kerry will not even be able to speak at his own convention nomination. Now....we all know that he won't do that....so he'll look even more like a man who backs down on his word.

BTW, what's HIS crossing the picket line have to do with anything....besides votes? Because he's not a union member.....so he's not really crossing anything. Seems like a stupid, pandering move to me.

Default There's that money thing again

Kerry has Union backing (votes and money). Therefore he can't cross the picket lines. They've already bought him and he knows this. He can only hope that the strike/dispute gets settled before the convention.

Default It's already settled

The police union said that because Kerry skipped speaking at the Mayor's conference in order to honor their picket the police said they won't picket at the convention.
