I love it when an "information bomb" goes off during a campaign, don't you?
It's like, once in a great while, there's an idea that gets floated, that so significant that the entire campaign comes to a grinding halt while people try to figure it out. Did you ever notice that? That happened for like "a day", the first time the Swiftboad ad came out - and people were going, "wow, what is this"? Remember? And I think this might be one of those times - it's like "everything political" has been strangely silent, for about 24 hours. Are you guys picking that up too? Even the posts here on PF have been few and far between during that time - And none of the talking heads are yapping about anything "important", right? Greta's pulled out some old Scott Robertson video, and O'Reilly's got a segment on some marine that just got the Medal of Honor...... right? Hmm..... you gotta love it when a new and strange odor wafts up into your nostrils, right? It's like "hello, what is this"? |

I'd have to give you like, a hundred, and then you'd have to look through 'em all to make sure there's no trace of what I'm talking about.... Nah, it's just an observation. I was just wondering if anyone had the same observation, is all. I mean, I get these "insights", you know? They kinda register on my mind like a "blip" on the radar screen - and sometimes I know what the blip is, and sometimes I don't. You gotta understand, I deal in political "landscapes". I'm so far beyond "single issues" it's not even funny. I'm sitting here listening to three news-feeds at once (and they rotate, so I get "lots" of input), and then there's the internet, and the phones, and all the rest of it - So when it all goes dead "all at once", then I'm like, "hmm.... that's interesting - I wonder what that was all about". You know, I make phone calls into my favorite political strategists and suddenly they're all "indisposed" - I mean, "all at once", right? That many people can't possibly go to the bathroom "all at once", right? |

Yeah boys and girls, that "fire" thing is kinda hard to miss....
I mean, I am in Studio City at the moment, so I look over one set of mountains and there's smoke (that would be Malibu), and I look over in the other direction and there's smoke (that would be Santa Clarita), and.... Yeah, but I mean, that's not the kind of thing I'd watch "on the news", right? Two minutes of those news guys, and I know what's going on, I don't really have to sit there riveted to my TV while they interview every Tom Dick and Harry who's lost a house or can't find his cat or something..... (And I'm not "all" that interested in Britney, to where I'd sit there hoping to catch a glimpse of her streaking body between the front door and the car, or whatever.... But yeah, they don't talk about Cali much in the blogs, unless it's "I hope you guys finally get the big one out there" and stuff like that. |

Okay, I've got this one tagged, I think I've figured out what's going on. I'm not gonna say anything yet, 'cause I still might be wrong - but now I'm gonna kick back and check out the airwaves for a while -
Here's my prediction: the lib channels will do "straight news", and Fox will start spewing all kinds of new little "details" - let's see, part of it will have to do with Iraq, undoubtedly, 'cause they definitely want to focus our attention on the WoT, and then part of it will probably have to do with some new heinous crime committed by an illegal alien or something - And then tomorrow, we're going to find out what this is all about.... I love the way these guys operate. I'll just bet, that if you stay tuned to the airwaves today, you'll see something interesting. It's like, something might show up real quick, and then disappear again after they air the story "once" - that kind of thing. Something "noticeable" like that usually happens, during these times. |

Well, so Hillary has two more competitors, it seems....
Let's see, Biden and Kucinich offered up their respective health-care plans today. So, Kucinich offers his, in a speech in front of the Kaiser Family Foundation. You know, hospital guys, right? They have lots of money, so they give some of it away, and they're also very influential on capitol hill - So Kucinich waltzes in with these guys, and basically tells 'em he wants to un-privatize and socialize all the hospitals - put 'am all under government control - And then, when he's asked how he's going to pay for it, he starts talking about the war in Iraq, and then, when one of the Kaiser folks asked him to stick to the topic, he said, "well, you can't separate those topics".... I mean, talk about walking into the lion's den - he's either got stones the size of the sun, or, he's the stupidest man on the planet. Maybe both - sometimes those traits go together, know what I mean? So Biden - who's a very smart man - his plan actually sounds pretty good. And he's even got a credible way to pay for it. So yeah, so the "information bomb" - Hillary's people apparently weren't expecting any competition "so soon" (I mean, 'cause they think the Romney thing is a non-starter with the American People, and I can't say I blame 'em for that perspective, after what happened with Medicare Part D - 'course now, Hillary wants to make it even worse by adding yet another gigantic freakin' entitlement.......) And, on the Rep side, Romney is the only one with a health care plan, right? None of the rest of those guys seem to care about health care, they seem to care more about privatizing Social Security and arresting illegal aliens and stuff like that. Seems both sides were trying to figure out what to do with this one - 'cause for Hillary it means she needs numbers now (which she hasn't had so far), and for the Reps it means they need a plan. |
