Oh yeah, we've visited that piece "thoroughly" already, let's see, Under the Sun, the Wizard, Hand of Doom, all that good stuff - Into the Void, yadda yadda... yeah, the bikers love all that stuff, but they really get turned on by Steppenwolf, and early Deep Purple, and even Grand Funk's Red Album, stuff like that. The Ozzy thing, is kinda something they do when they've taken too many reds or somethin', you know, they're passed out in a corner and the rest of the gang is peein' on 'em, somethin' like that...

We've been checkin' out the Judas Priest vibe on these guys, you know the biker-in-leather trip, but now that everyone knows the guy's gay, you kinda get a mixed reaction of the crowd - like, we do "Tyrant" (well), which is kinda something everyone relates to, but you start playing some of that new Halford stuff, and people don't really understand it, which is a shame 'cause it's only that they don't "want to" understand it - but anyway....

We've got a "short list" of stuff we're gonna work on, let's see, we got some Blue Cheer on it, and so on, and even some Badfinger - "Baby Blue" is one of those things that like, "everyone" loves - the chicks go completely insane on that song, and it's got this beautiful guitar lick that the guys tune into, and it's like, as long as you don't blow chunks or wear red shoes doin' it, you're gonna be a musical God when that one's over....

But yeah, it's like, kinda of an "acid test" of sorts, playing in front of ten thousand bikers, it's like, you know, if they suddenly riot and start screaming "Lemmy" in unison, well then, you gotta pull some Motorhead outta your backside, know what I'm sayin'?

Sounds good but not sure about Badfinger ... I always associate them with come and get it, day after day ... didn't like either one.

Yeah lots of deep purple (Ritchie Blackmore rocks) and always pound out Ted the Mechanic...

Yep, Ozzie Black Sabbath with crazy train and sabbath bloody sabbath -- good stuff ... he is a seriously talented dude.

I would imaging bikers would like some of Seger's old stuff ... Roll me away, Nutbush city limits and Get out of Denver and he has a new album titled Keep the Promise where he does a tune with Kid Rock titled Real mean bottle ... kinda country rock but it kicks a$$ ..

A few more .. The Boss, born in the usa -- Canned heat ~ going up the country, Jefferson starship ~ We built this city, anything Hendrix,
Cocker, you can leave your hat on and first we take manhattan Mellemcamp ~ rock in the usa (and the other garage rockers),

Then I'd toss some random stuff at them ... ya never know ... reflections of my life by marmalade and wild cherry by foghat and pancho and lefty by merle and willie ... spirit in the sky by norman greenbaum who doesn't like rare earth, peter frampton, the yardbirds, the who ...

Man I can't wait to hear youz guyz play ... what's the band name again ?

HUH??? Democrats have ruled in Texas forever! It's ONLY in the last 12 years or so that Republicans became the Majority. So, your premise is all wrong. IF any "disenfrashising" has gone on in Texas, it's been the Democrats doing it!!!!

So, where were YOU when the Democrats ruled Texas for decades and decades??? Didn't care so much then.....right???

JPS you are answering in a subtle way why Texas is now so overtaken by Mexicans. In the last twelve years Mexicans have came to outnumber the whites and blacks combined in most Texas' major cities. I lived in Fort Worth for the last fourteen years and just recently moved to Arkansas. Republicans welcome the Mexicans because they will work the cheapest for a less part of the money the republicans save giving themselves cheaper tax rates. And for the last seven years then the Mexican invasion has gone nationwide because we are in a nationwide republican rule. Republicans want to try to save 99 cents of every dollar that they make, even if it mean cheap illegal labor.

Default Hey you Californians

From reading you Californians rapping above then it has me singing in an echoing way in cold Middle-America, "The leaves are brown, the leaves are brown and the skies are grey, the skies are grey, I went for a walk, I went for a walk, on a winter day, on a winter day, I'd be safe and warm, I'd be safe and warm, if I was in L.A., if I was in L.A., I am California dreaming, California dreaming, on such a winter day".

If it got past state polticians it would be instantly in court under various Constituion based challenges adn god know what else.

Democrats will never willingly allow such a thing to occur as it would not only fragment severly their hold on the West Coast Electoral Votes but also New York and other places they rely on.
Such a system would be of much more benefit to Republicans and potential Third Parties. Oh there's Texas and Florida where it may benefit Democrat but for the most part it wouldn't.

Leave it alone.
The Electoral College system works fine and is what it is because of the every nature of your country. Monkey with it at your peril.

I used to live on 15th street, on the block by the strand. It was next to the long-abandoned Biltmore Hotel lot (I guess something is there now) - we used to call it the world's most expensive piece of land for people to bring their dogs to dump in! I used to eat in The Spot for vegetarian food, and went to the Poopdeck on summer afternoons for a brewski. I'd heard that guys used to sit on the beach wall, with 1-10 rating cards, and rate the girls who walked by! And the girls! What a beach!

Here, here!!!!
I believe the smiley face from Rebellion was used to admit that she was being hypocritical. You can't seriously believe it is fair to split the votes in large states that vote Democrat but not in large Republican states. Can you? That would be a stretch even by your standards.

Default Jermiah, DuH2, Blade ...

jeramiah -- California dreaming (mamas -n- pappas) is one of my favorites songs and I play it nearly every day just to remind myself how lucky I am to live in Californa. For a slightly different tempo and harmony, listen to the Beach Boys copy of it.

And when you get cold this winter in middle america, here's a link to warm you up ...

My South Bay beaches picture site (a work in progress)

DuH2 -- agree, there would be all sorts of challenges and problems and I'm personally not up for Hanging chads round 2.

Blade -- I know the Poopdeck well 15th street on the Strand, IIRC, is now a hotel named The Beach House ($350 /night during the off season) and there is a small park there (Noble Park -- Millenium Way) You bet ... for hot chicks Hermosa is tough to beat (double ) and waddaya mean it's expensive there ... ya can pick up a nice 800 sq ft starter for just a few million....

I used to laugh at the people who had strand houses for a couple million. Where I was renting, I could get up off the couch, put on sandals, and be on the beach in a minute. In summer, the people with strand houses would give ugly looks to the people blocking their view of the ocean standing around. For a while there (mid-90s) girls seemed to want to challenge the local ordinances by wearing bottomless bikinis. Garsh, the volleyball tournaments, cute chicks skating .... scuse me ..... getting a little emotional here .... sniff sniff
