Thread: The TRUTH is ....

  1. Default The TRUTH is ....

that the growth rate in government spending under Obama has been lower than under any president since Eisenhower. And that includes such stalwart Republicans as Reagan, Bush and Bush. It ALSO includes Obama's bailouts of the "too big to" failures, the clean-up of Bush's two wars, and ObamaCare.

Any Romney or Republican SuperPac statement to the contrary is simply a bald-faced LIE.

    Any questions???

Pretty clear cut, but it is in the nature of a conservative to lie and present a sick subversion of the truth to people.

Cons are disgusting disingenuous monsters who hate this country. They would not want good natured Americans armed with such dangerous information as THE TRUTH. Cons hate the truth. Cons hate facts. Cons hate America.

Federal government spending goes from 20% to over 25% of GDP in three years and you have the temerity to make statements like this?

Sounds like something the NYT made up.

Because the economy slowed to a snails pace for one...but Obama has out-spent Baby- Bush in 1 term to Bush's 2 terms and just saddled us with 10 more years in Afghanistan.

When Obama took office, the economy was tanking at a -9% real rate. No the economy has been growing steadily for 10 straight quarters. So IMO it is not accurate to say the economy "slowed" when it went from tanking to growth.

Furthermore, the average real GDP growth over the last two years has been 2.4%, which is not great, but beats the average under Bush2 which was 2.0%. So "slowed" doesn't really fit there either.

While I appreciate you sharing your opinions, really, its very easy to expose the erroneous beliefs, lies, and distortions our conservative friends share with us on a daily basis by reference to reliable facts and argument.

In my view doing that is much more effective than lowering ourselves to the kind of base insulting we see so frequently from their side of the bench.

There's no base insulting here. Just observations on the dark and twisted nature of the modern American conservative.

I calculated the percent change in federal government expenditures (not adjusted for inflation) on a different thread. Under George W. Bush, federal government expenditures increased 60 percent. Under Barack Obama, they have increased 5.3 percent.

If one divides percent change in federal government expenditures under Bush by 8, the amount of years in office, one can conclude that President Bush increased federal government spending by 7.5 percent each year. For all intensive purposes, President Obama has been in power for 3 years and 4 months. This means annual federal government expenditures have increased by approximately 1.6 percent since he has taken office.
