Thread: BREAKING- Rand Paul Endorses Mitt Romney

  1. Default BREAKING- Rand Paul Endorses Mitt Romney

File this under signs the Ron Paul campaign is really, truly over: Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul threw his support tonight to Mitt Romney.

The endorsement came in an appearance on "Hannity," a little less than 24 hours after the elder Paul acknowledged in an email that his delegate total is "not enough to win the nomination."

Romney embraced the endorsement in a press release, calling Rand Paul a "leading voice in the effort to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty."

"Over the past three and half years, President Obama has made government more and more of a presence in our lives, and Americans can’t afford four more years of the same failed policies," Romney said. "As president, I will reform the federal government and make it smaller, simpler, and smarter. I am grateful for Sen. Paul’s support and look forward to working with him to get America back on the right track."

Now the question is: how many Pauls will speak at the Republican National Convention?

I'm probably getting my hopes up for nothing... but I can almost envision a Romney/Paul administration. I'd love to see Rand (or Ron for that matter) become VP. In either case, it'll be better than what we have now.

Is this old news, or is everyone in shock?

it's not really news at all

I don't care if you are a Paul zealot, a Santorum loyalist or road the Cain train, it is clear that Romney will be so much better for the country than the current resident in the WH. Is Romney the perfect candidate, no more or elss than Paul. In fact, with his executive experience I believe Romney to be the right man for the job right now. In another time perhaps that person would be Paul. The country needs an executive right now and you won't agree with everything he does but as long as the country moves in the right direction then that is all that matters. We've done ideology the past 3 1/2 years and it's pushed us almost over the edge.
What have we become when we demonize success

The only surprise and/or shock I see, is that Old Ron finally admitted that his delegate total is "not enough to win the nomination."

...must be shocking to some of his more rabid cheerleaders.

It seems odd that Rand would support a candidate that has already voiced his support for the NDAA detention clause.

Paul was one of the few Senators that voted against it and very vocally. Romney has instead been supportive of the NDAA detention clause.

I guess Rand is looking to jockey for a higher position.

And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions.
Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is."

They can't agree on everything and Rand has more in common ideologically with Romney than he does with Obama so his endorsement makes sense in that regard.

So, it appears that Rand Paul sold out to the RINO's. There goes his credibility.

Logistically Romney and Rand Paul would work...you always need someone from the south and Paul is pretty well liked and knows his way around. Day by day and sometimes hour by hour things shift more toward Romney...which is why Obama loves late night TV. It's all he has left.

if this is REALLY true that he really said that this is further proof that he is a sellout to his father caue Ron has said he wont rupport Romney if he does not get the nomination.Im starting to think power has already corrupted Rand.He wants americans to give back 40% of their social security. He is starting to get compromised and if he really said that,he has REALLY sold out his father now.
five 9/11 official conspiracy theory apologists on ignore.Reason? they lie when they are defeated and wont look at the evidence.
