Oh great, that's all McCain needs - an endorsement by the party's most famous RINO. McCain better get some conservative endorsements (by making conservative statements) soon, or the slim chance he has of being elected if he is nominated will edge toward zero.

Immediately it gives McCain access to Arnolds network in California.
Nomination it seals up California and buoys the general Republican mood that McCain is the man. It increases support (unlikely to be enough but who knows) for McCain to have a shot at California in the general election. It helps McCain in places like Washington, Oregon, Idaho as well as much of the 'west' in general. He already has alot of known Conservatives endorsing him. Jack Kemp, Sam Brownback, Tom Coburn, etc. The Hannity, Malkin, Limbaugh extreme right 'conservative' of the freeper variety will mostly get over themselves and go with McCain. Those who don't will simply be stepped around.

Ok.
But McCain, I predict, will lose to any democrat candidate. I guess those endorsers are resigned to what they see as realpolitick, but many rank and file conservatives will stay home on election day, disgusted at once again only having a choice between a "moderate" and a liberal for president.

Well, there'll be at least one. The last election I voted in was 2000. I haven't voted in any election since, because I got tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. Why is it the democrats always get their liberals, but republicans get to vote for a conservative about once a century? Even if I still voted, I would not vote for any person like McCain who is so wrongheaded on the illegal alien issue. The lib media is pushing the mantra that McCain is an "independent thinker". Translation: a RINO who votes with the democrats on important domestic issues.
