She may have disguised it with inspirational words, but Michell Obama was saying that we should vote for her husband because of his skin color. The fact that someone here used that as an example of a strong speech says more about the listener than the speaker, IMO.
and what one does is MUCH more important than what one says or how they say it, too, 12th ... but the fact that your team gets that wrong so frequently seems to have escaped your recognition

so its disguised as inspirational because shes saying what everyone already knows? because shes addressing that a win for a black man is in fact a huge deal for our country - and it is - shes bsing? lol

not talkin to you specifically, 12th, but this is being skeptical for no reason. this is the cynicism that wouldve come in handy when the right voted for bush. this is the cynicism, that for bush, should be the obvious reaction to anything the man says after all the promises hes broken, all the lies hes spoken. but despite his track record for failure, people insist on defending his integrity.

now, a guy with a virtually spotless record comes a long. a guy whose faults are possibly being muslim (lol, thats a fault, how sad) and being an inspirational speaker comes along, and the right greets him with nothing but mistrust - mistrust based on nothing. regarding obama, the right seems to insist on defying logic. should i be surprised? not really, but youd think theyd have more sense than to attack a message simply because its positive. lol.

I didn't say it wouldn't be a big deal. I find it strange that you agree with her. I thought one of the main points of Obama's campaign was that you shouldn't vote based on skin color.

It's pretty easy to have a spotless record when you have so little record to begin with.

Exactly. Nothing. Yet, many decide to trust him based on the fact that they like the way he gives a speech. What else has he done to earn your trust?

I don't think it's a positive message to judge someone based on skin color. Shame on you. Shame on Michelle.

shes just stating the obvious, not asking for votes based on skin color. spotless for me is not the same as spotless for someone on the right, but that isnt even discussed by most opposed to obama, thats what makes it so funny. hardly anyone addresses obamas record, albeit short he does have one.

no, not exactly. nothing. hes taken stances on many things, you choose to ignore what you consider limited history, and dismiss it as no history at all. that makes no sense. your critique, in that regard, is completely without substance. and the last paragraph in my previous post was talking about barack, specifically, not michelles speech.

I don't know. I'm at work right now, and I don't have access to online videos. Perhaps the content is crap. I'll have to check later.

I don't like inspiring speakers. Hitler was an inspiring speaker. What I like is rational, ethical people.

I saw a documentary on GW and that changed my views a little on the whole "how you say it" issue. One of the things GW actually excells at is foreign relations. He's lowered tariffs and made global trade a policy. In this documentary he said that his ability to just connect with real people on a personal level has helped him the most. I think personality has a lot to do with being president.

It's not the only thing, but it's a big plus in the foreign relations check box.

So your logic is that if we are not there, the number will go down... That makes perfect sense... not.
