Default Bush says McCAIN a true conservative

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,330234,00.html Q and A
Bush said that he tinks McCAIN is a true conservative. Is that a slap at the Coulter's, VANNITY'S, and the Drup Addicts ? Is Bush just trying to 'smooth' out the party ripples?
I think that Bush is putting a tiny bit of distance between him and the Coulterists !

"Question: Is John McCain a true conservative?

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Absolutely. I know him well. I know his convictions. I know the principles that drive him and no doubt in my mind he is a true conservative """

When asked about the Coulter brain fart he said "
BUSH: I think that if John is the nominee, he has got some convincing to do to convince people that he is a solid conservative and I'll be glad to help him if he is the nominee ..."

So, NOW you're listening to Bush????!!!??

President Bush is speaking how he truly feels. He always has. Glad to have you come around to realize it. And frankly, what Pres. Bush says goes a long way with me. It should help McCain.

Considering that Bush thinks of *himself* as conservative, perhaps we should take his assessment with a grain of salt. Or 20....

Most Conservatives seem to think of him as conservative. If not 100% more then enough to matter.

His endorsement which is not surprising matters a hell of alot more the Ted Kennedy or really anyone.

Like usual Bush hits on many Key points..heres 3.

Quote:
``You're not going to find perfection,'' Bush said, referring to conservative criticism.
Quote:
I'm sure that you can find quotes from people running for office that sound like they're at odds with me. But the point - what really matters in a campaign is, what are the basic beliefs?"
Quote:
If the Democrat party feels like they can win an election by focusing on me, I think they'll be making a huge tactical mistake."
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/...ap4636879.html

Then throw in Hillary Clinton who is going to get the nomination and Democrats intenitonally ignoring of progress in Iraq, denying the surge worked, etc etc

When Obamarama dies around Texas(probably) the question arises which bits of his airhead crowd will go to Hillary?, which will do nothing?, and which will go for McCain.<--This is why I think some states(which I dunno ) people do not even think can go Republican just might.

I think having W. campaign for you is about as effective as having Bill on your team...

That's funny; considering that most Dems call Bush a neo-con. Now, they are trying to imply he's not even very conservative.

Go figure.

JP:

I hate to break it to you sweetheart, but when even I have turned against him, I'd say your assessment is inaccurate.

My parents, who are diehard republicans who met him back in '05, have even turned on him. The guy I'm dating who went to the Naval Academy and is career military despises him.

He has completely alienated all but the diehard few.

Not in my neck of the woods. Besides....you're talking about because of policy or issues. I was talking about his "likability" factor.

In my neck of the woods, incompetent morons aren't all that likeable. But hey, we're judgemental like that.
