Obama bill: $845 billion
more for global poverty
Democrat sponsors act OK'd by Senate panel
that would cost 0.7% of gross national product
Well, at very least, welfare doesn't leave the economy. they get the money, they buy things, and the companies actually get more. there are many better things to "stimulate" the economy, but it does a good job. of course, at what point does economic growth stop and the dollar begin to inflate past it?

I have to disagree that he would be worse than Hillary. Hillary has simply toned down her rhetoric, but she is a die hard collectivist and she would nationalize entire industries if she could get away with it
I didn't say they where much different.... just that he's worse.

Look at their various comments about Exxon..she bashes (with substance even if its fallacious).......he bashes (without substance) and declares they owe us.
A private Company in the USA does not owe everyone because they make a profit..thats socialist/communist thinking and while she likes it he LOVES it.

Default Tax&Spend Liberal

Quote:
Obama's Gloomy Big-Government Vision
By Lawrence Kudlow

Senator Barack Obama is very gloomy about America, and he's aligning himself with the liberal wing of the Democratic party in hopes of coming to the nation's rescue. His proposal? Big-government planning, spending, and taxing -- exactly what the nation and the stock market doesn't want to hear.

Obama unveiled much of his economic strategy in Wisconsin this week: He wants to spend $150 billion on a green-energy plan. He wants to establish an infrastructure investment bank to the tune of $60 billion. He wants to expand health insurance by roughly $65 billion. He wants to "reopen" trade deals, which is another way of saying he wants to raise the barriers to free trade. He intends to regulate the profits for drug companies, health insurers, and energy firms. He wants to establish a mortgage-interest tax credit. He wants to double the number of workers receiving the earned-income tax credit (EITC) and triple the EITC benefit for minimum-wage workers.

The Obama spend-o-meter is now up around $800 billion. And tax hikes on the rich won't pay for it. It's the middle class that will ultimately shoulder this fiscal burden in terms of higher taxes and lower growth.

This isn't free enterprise. It's old-fashioned-liberal tax, and spend, and regulate. It's plain ol' big government. The only people who will benefit are the central planners in Washington.

Why don't the Yes We Can loons sacrifice for the betterment of all and tax themselves for the glory of the Party.

Default CHANGE - that's the message!

instead of borrow and spend we will change to tax and spend

yes, the affluent will pay a greater share of the taxes. since they enjoy a greater share of the prosperity is that so unfair?

Whose money has President Bush been spending for the last 7 years? It never ceases too amaze me how Repubs want to accuse Dems for tax and spend and then Repubs turn around and do the same thing. Sounds alittle hypocritical too me.

Repubs controlled the WH and both Houses of Congress for 6 years how much smaller did the Gov't get in those 6 yrs?

How much money was put back into the taxpayers pockets during that time frame?

So for the sake of arguement if Sen. Obama does spend it will be no different than what we have seen for the last 7 yrs and you aren't complaining about it.

Whatever Bush's tax cuts amounted too, which was substantial enough to halt the Clinton/Gore recession.
