Actually, providing subsidies for health care would be socialist in nature. I think my point may have been missed, I am not a Clinton, Obama, or McCain supporter. I too prefer not to have Gov't policy shoved down my throat, in fact I believe the opposite, show me the candidate that will allow the majority opinion to be shoved down their throat and I'll support them. Throughout the years the American public has supported help for the poor and our Gov't has continually ignored this and passed policy taking away from public programs while inflating our defense budget. This is only one issue we have been repeatedly ignored on, If I even tried to list them all you'd be reading all day. My wish is to have a candidate that will listen to the people and implement what they want, not pursue the status quo that our nation has been content with for the past 200 years. If Obama will break from the Imperialistic, and Hegemonistic policies our Gov't has been well known for instituting since it's inception, and free our resources to take care of ourselves and our children who are the real losers in all of this then he has my vote.

Hmm....

You have a computer.
You have internet connection.
I'll also bet you have a cell phone (with a monthly charge), and cable/sat TV.

You probably CAN afford health insurance. You just don't WANT to.

Health care that I've looked up costs more than 500 a month. We have a car and car insurance: 400 a month. Rent is 1500 a month (I live in NY). My wife makes 3000 a month and I'm a student. I need internet service and a computer as I am a student. I need a cell phone because I tutor when I can and I need to stay in touch with my classmates. There's also food for the month, gas, tuition, books, etc. Do I really need to sacrifice all this for measly health care that won't cover anything when I'm a perfectly healthy 23 year old? No thanks.
