I heard that same lame excuse when Bill Clinton was about to be elected and the military is as strong as ever. Please tell us how he is going to destroy the military, that is nothing but propaganda BS. Another one of these lame, weak anti-black threads is about all this amounts too. E.Pluribus Unum

Funny, the guy who whines the most about racism is the same guy who constantly perpetuates it. Typical black, create victimization even when there isn't any. Last edited by BillyBob; 03-15-2008 at 07:59 AM. |

Seriously dude. It's not that billybob isn't racist. But that issue wasn't anywhere in this thread. And he's conservative enough that I'm fairly confident he'd be posting the same thing if Obama was pasty white.
It is a hair disturbing. I know many Liberals want to slash military capabilities to save money, so he's gaining points with them there. And he isn't talking about destroying the armed forces, just whacking them down a few notches. But the "ban all fissable material production" bit? That's beyond a pipe dream, and I get irritated when candidates start promising to try to do things they know they have no chance of achieving. Last edited by sunnyside; 03-15-2008 at 08:25 AM. |

This thread is about defense and what Barack promises to do. No matter who started the thread, it is not about race. You say to stick to the issues and stop talking about race so start doing it yourself. There is no reason why a person right of center would support either Barack or Hillary. You want to stick to the issues then freaking stick to the issues! Start by watching the video and commenting on THAT!

You are a hypocrite. You are also guilty, as you advocate an interventionist foreign policy, yet will not join the military. You weaken our military by empowering politicians who extend the military's positions worldwide and then you refuse to actively participate. Sitting back behind your computer saying "We must send our troops all over the world, just as long as I'm not one of the troops..."

Actually, Obama plans to expand the military budget and add 100,000 troops.
This is from his website: Building a 21st Century Military * The Problem: The excellence of our military is unmatched. But as a result of a misguided war in Iraq, our forces are under pressure as never before. Obama will make the investments we need so that the finest military in the world is best-prepared to meet 21st-century threats. * Rebuild Trust: Obama will rebuild trust with those who serve by ensuring that soldiers and Marines have sufficient training time before they are sent into battle. * Expand the Military: We have learned from Iraq that our military needs more men and women in uniform to reduce the strain on our active force. Obama will increase the size of ground forces, adding 65,000 soldiers to the Army and 27,000 Marines. * New Capabilities: Obama will give our troops new equipment, armor, training, and skills like language training. He will also strengthen our civilian capacity, so that our civilian agencies have the critical skills and equipment they need to integrate their efforts with our military. * Strengthen Guard and Reserve: Obama will restore the readiness of the National Guard and Reserves. He will permit them adequate time to train and rest between deployments, and provide the National Guard with the equipment they need for foreign and domestic emergencies. He will also give the Guard a seat at the table by making the Chief of the National Guard a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/fo...ntury-military |
