Default CAN the election be.....

BOUGHT? FreshieGi's post regarding Gates for president inspired this question. But didnt want to hijack that post. Very curious as to the opinions everyone has on this.

I think it was bought in 2000. And unfortunately, due to that set precedent, i feel that every presidential election from now on will be bought. When you spend 200 million dollars to win a publice posistion, that is exactly what you are doing.

do you believe that it is worth your time to leave home, to go to the polls and vote on Nov. 2?

Default As long as Presidential elections remain beauty contests..

..and rely more on sound bytes, smears and style over substance then it is very likely that they will remain "bought"....

Yes I do, leaving my home and going to the polls to place my vote is my, and every other Americans, voice. As little as it may be, I don't think I can rightfully complain about the things I don't like if I am not out there trying to change them.
