Obama is done. Supporters can beg not to convict him by association with the pastor, but clear thinking Americans aren't buying one minute of it. if Barak Obama is the brilliant Harvard Law graduate they make him out to be, then he was well equipped to translate Jeremiah the bullfrogs comments into the hate that fueled them. Obama is an attorney, trained to interpret and to read between the lines. When that pitiful excuse for an American (wright) began spewing his hateful rhetoric, neither Obama nor his wife had a problem with it.

NEWSFLASH:

If Obama were truly a candidate to lead our great nation, there would be record of Obama dissociating himself with the pastor that instant. Obama sat in that church for 20 years knowing what this preacher was all about, and having no problem with it. If that is what the pastor says in public, you can only imagine the hatred he shared with Obama in private, because the two were very close confidants. Give me a break if Obama thinks he is getting out of this one. he had the nomination sealed. Sorry sir, it's over. You support and seek mentoring from racist, America hating individuals. You are out of it.

I'm astonished that Bobby Jindal (Indian-American) has won the governorship in Louisiana. At least he's not a sikh. I would be very impressed if he ran for president in the future.

Unfortunately I hope he doesn't, because he will get the same treatment that Sen. Obama is receiving right now. That position is held for one distinguished guy by many in this country. As a matter of fact you have seen many of their posts on these threads.

A guy like Bobby Jindal can succeed by assimilating and subduing ties to ethnic groups and appealing to white voters. Obama can do the same thing. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Angry Black Men out there, based on their life experiences and frustrations. Obama is really not an angry Black man.

He was raised by his white grandparents and cares about the well-being of white Americans. Just like Irish Catholic JFK, he needs to prove that his priorities will be for the white-protestants ahead of ethnic groups.

Did you support segregation and the Jim Crow laws. I don't think Blacks had a choice in separating themselves from white society. The Black adults today were threatened from voting in the 1960's. There is ample reason to distrust white elites.

Do you support inter-racial marriage between Blacks and Whites? If we are a truly free and open society, there should be no barriers against diversity including in our communities, and in our homes.

Do you think that guys like Michael Jordan or Colin Powell complain, cry, or are lazy? Do you think Black athletes or musicians deserve their success. What industries or professions are available to Black youth, is anything and everything really possible?

If any of you have taken a sociology class, you would find a strong evidence of minorities being more racist than the majority. It's a social-psychological thing. Timidity creates fear. Fear foments hate. Hate develops into violence and clouds your thinking to some very important decisions.
With the preaching I heard....Obama has been nurtured with these remarks. There is no doubt it.

Hence, he's misfit for the president. He should resign before Pennsylvania.

Nevertheless, Race, Age, Gender should not be an issue when a candidate is running for the president.

Ok if you started this thread to harp on Obama on this issue fine enough.

However if you actually think he is "done" than you don't "get" Obama.

He has a short record and people are used to just believing whatever he says is what he feels and is what he's always felt.

After this broke he made a statement where he describes Wright's comments as "the inflammatory and appalling remarks he made about our country, our politics, and my political opponents." He goes on to say that he "vehemently disagrees[s with] and strongly condemn[s] the statements that have been the subject of this controversy." and "I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies."

So there you go. This issue will have a negligable affect on the nomination.

It may matter in the general election, but I wouldn't count on it.

I don't think he would give up easily. But, those who want democrats in the white house are going to miss it again.

After almost 50 years, we're going to have another Senator in the White House.
