Default McCain "Spiritual Advisor:" Destroy Islam

Ronald Parsely says: "America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion [Islam] destroyed"

Another, accepted, endorsement comes from Jim Hagee, who calls Catholicism "the great whore."

I give McCain the benefit of the doubt; He is not his spiritual advisor. But I'm guessing that all the people who argued Wright's comments had an impact on Obama will argue the same here. (sarcasm)

In fact, I'm guessing some will clamor up to say this intolerant statement is somehow true.

But this brings up the greater point: why are Republicans allowed to get away with alliances with crazy fundamentalists?

Moreover, why are wright's comments such a big deal, when the current president of the united states sought advice from the likes of Pat Robertson and Ted Haggard?

That smell is another huge republican double standard on the grill.

Please, these people pledging to support McCain does not make them his spiritual advisors. McCain is in no way a fundie.

That smells is from an argument that stinks.

Hagee is a mere endorser, and equates to, say Farrakan, who's endorsement of Obama was rejected.

But Parsely was described by McCain as a spiritual advisor:

“I am very honored today to have one of the truly great leaders in America, a moral compass, a spiritual guide…thank you for your leadership and your guidance. I am very grateful you are here.”

The point here is: Republicans galavant with religious fundies all the time, and so this outrage over Wright swings both ways.

As I said, McCain gets the benefit of the doubt from me; I don't think he is a fundie, just a demogogue.

I said it for Obama and I'll say it for McCain: if they didn't say it themselves I could care less. The opinions of associates to presidential candidates are a waste of time and just around for smear campaigns. I understand the "two way street" mentality but everyone needs to move on from this ignorance.

Me neither, and I've said so.

The point here is the blatant double standard.

Understood. I posted a similar argument about Pat Robertson. I think it's just this board. All anyone seems to be interested in is slamming Obama for anything and everything humanly possible. No one talks about the issues anymore or a candidate like Hillary Clinton who is facing a fraud lawsuit. They want to talk about Obama's pastor. This is why we have a government that runs like crap.

McCain is a moderate leader! A great man and an honorable soldier!

Anyone is allowed to support him.
