Default Kerry on "how to win new friends & influence them"

It's apparent that John Kerry is totally against outsourcing, even though Heinz outsources 72% of their product to foreign nations.

But, ask a liberal how John Kerry is going to win his world wide popularity contest by stopping outsourcing to foreign countries? Lets see: I guess, with Kerry's plan, China & Mexico wouldn't mind if they had American business leave, sending unemployment in their countries higher. India, Singapore & Japan.

If Kerry does this, foreign corporations that employ millions of Americans in the United States, might just get a little upset about this plan. And lay off millions of American workers, so they can go back to their home countries to take up the slack in unemployment there.

Do you really think that this plan would help John Kerry in his attempt to win his world wide popularity contest? I doubt it.

But, the fact remains: We still import more jobs to the United States, than we outsource. And today, we are a GLOBAL economy.

You mean Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Romanian, Russian companies will lay off millions of american workers? I think you are confused. I don't see it as a real danger, you know, companies from these countries don't really employ anybody in America, it will therefore be pretty hard for them to lay americans off.

There is one more difference you should know - Japanese/European companies hire americans to produce goods and services for the american market. They therefore have to hire Americans here in this country and they will not be able to lay them off without endangering their share of the highly lucrative american market. American companies on the other side outsource and hire Indians or Chinese not in order to conquer the corresponding foreign markets but for re-importation only. That's a major difference.
