Hello All,
I am new to these forums and am simply trying to spread my view on the tiring and cumbersome Democratic primary election. I personally happen to be an Obama fan however, First and Foremost I am a Democrat (maybe socialist, still not sure) before being an Obama fan. I am vehemently surprised at the supporters of both candidates who chose to say that they will vote for McCain in the general election if their candidate loses. It is with deep regret that I say that I am dissapointed and I condone the fellow democrats who speak this out of pure hatred for the infighting between the two candidates. As both candidates have admitted they are the same on 90 to 95 percent of the issues (DEFINETELY THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR) and both would support each other in the case that one wins, I am here to ask why one would ever decide to switch, go against their party, go against what they believe, go against what they thing would be best for their nation and agitatively vote against a candidate who best represents their views. As far as I know, this is a pointless and dissappointing decision and as an American who wants to be proud of his nation, I would like to know the reasoning behind such disgraceful action. Well I'm unsure of how many of the people who said they would either support McCain or not vote actually would do that. Everyybody is so caught up in a frenzy that they couldn't imagine voting for the opponent of the current candidate that they are supporting. I am confident that the democrats will all back one candidate. People very well may just be trying to make a statement. When it actually comes down to the election, I think people will support the nominee.

From talking to people there are some who are just really turned off by Hillary. My wife is a democrat but she would go McCain over Hillary.
Others may really care about the 10-5% of the issues that they differ on. Obama seems to bother a lot of union workers. Others may care about the particular gaffes of one or the other. Some may not want to vote for Hillary after some lies like the sniper fire business. Some people may not like being called bitter and clingy, or they were disturbed by the whole wright thing. hendrixpujols, I hope you are right, I am just going off of gallup polls and comments on CNN blogs. For instance the gallup poll showed that 26 percent of clinton supporters would vote for mccain over obama if obama were to win the nom. and 16 percent of obama supporters would do the same. A time poll showed similar results as did the exit polls of the Pennsylvania primary. Hopefully we will be able to heal these wounds by General Election. Regrettably I would even resort to both of them on the same ticket if it means a Democrat in the white house

And why would you think that? I am a very left liberal and am honestly concerned about this issue. So please if you reply, add to the topic.

This is rather simple.
Obama is for all intents Far Left. You yourself say you wonder if you're a Socialist. Well most Democrats supporting Hillary are Moderates and do not want that far left of a person in power. Many of them are and have been content with voting for a Republican in the past(IE Reagan Democrats) and McCain is better to them then Obama. I doubt McCain will get 26% of that but I bet he will get 10% and thats a no win for the Democrats. With Obama people its the opposite they see Hillary as too much of a centrist and not extreme enough. I doubt many in this bracket will vote for McCain.

Well, there's that, and the fact that she's a pathological liar, who can't be trusted as far as you can throw her (and with those big fat piano legs, that can't be very far).
