WSJ Reported... "The Democrats Have a Nominee: It's Obama! Other than ensuring the Greatest Show on Earth will continue, does it matter that Hillary Clinton defeated Barack Obama Tuesday in Pennsylvania by nine-plus points? Barack Obama is the nominee."

They fail to realize though that the entire reason for the existence of Super delegates, is to make sure the nomination process doesn't produce someone who is so far left leaning, that they are completely unelectable.

If the Super Delegates don't see this or won't act on it, then why have the Super Delegate system in the first place? They might as well adopt the same system the Republicans have and avoid all these headaches in the future.

Both Obama and Clinton are extreme leftists, how do the Super delegates decide between them?

if Democrates are t o win there first must unite the party. Hillary have not done this yet s o how can she win?

That's maybe half the reason. Another reason was to prevent pluralities and procedural fights at the DNC. Such as could happen at this one if it gets tight and Florida or Michigan try for last minute revotes or something.

And another was to "involve the party leaders in the process" the idea being they'd work harder for candidates they were involved with and invested in. It is not hard to believe that either Hillary or Obama may be sweetening the pot for any number of superdelegates. And that has to be a motivating factor.

I imagine Hillary is better at this.

Bring on the racial divide in the democrat party. Hillary wins this thing and watch the civil war start.

Because the democrats are obsessed with what they call "greater democracy" everybody has to follow the whims of the majority, which includes the super delegates and negates their purpose. That's why so many of the Democrats support getting rid of the super delegates all together.

Obama has won the nomination. It is a done deal. The super delegates are supporting him, too.

It's not over until the fat lady sings.

Truth is, I knew that Obama would win, but I wanted for Hillary to stay in as long as possible to bloody up Obama. That has worked out wonderfully. Obama is now completely unelectable.
