Actor Tom Hanks just publically came out in support of Obama. Do you consider Tom Hanks a "loonie?"

Did you also see him in Charlie Wilson's War, The Terminal, Catch Me if You Can, Forest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Philadelphia, and Bachelor Party? If you associate acting with an actor's personality, you would also have to assume Tom Hanks is a great politician, an Eastern European immigrant, a detective, a great ping pong player, a war hero, gay with AIDS, and waiting to get married. Your point is beyond ridiculous.

I get what your saying, and I also agree to an extent that alot of "educated" people are simply just morons with a piece of paper claiming they are something special.

However on the flip side I also think that it should be applauded when someone works hard and gets a degree, and they shouldn't be called idiots.

I would personally prefer to live in a nation with MANY college grads as opposed to FEW college grads. Im not saying there is anything even remotely wrong with not going to college...Its just not for everyone. I mean my Grandfather is my hero and he didnt even graduate high school. Im just saying that the more educated our nation I think the better off we are.

In regards to Obama, the point I was simply trying to make is that someone called his supporters "UN-EDUCATED" and I was pointing out the truth, which is that most of his supporters are actually educated people.

I didnt say they were smarter than everyone else, simply EDUCATED. There is a difference.
Well I'm glad you see where I'm coming from, and I also see where you are coming from. Technically they would be more educated. My main gripe is with the overall logic and intelligence of the average person voting. I don't ,however, take back my comments about some people who receive degrees are still idiots in the end.

Some universities are a joke, and some have degree programs that are a joke. I went to a public university with an extremely high ranked Business School, Engineering School, Physics, and Math. I happened to take advantage of Economics and Math. Some chose something like Family Studies or Communication. Some majors were less work and less intellectual thought, and you could tell by the person's life style and the work they had to do. While I do not randomly go around trashing people like that, I get angry when they happen to open their big mouth about anything and everything just because they received a piece of paper.

In all fairness I consider all the actors with liberal political views out of touch with reality. They basically make millions and live as big as you can get for doing something that really isn't necessary for society. They then turn around and say we need to do something to help those who are less fortunate. I just laugh when I see extreme liberals like Hillary and even Obama, who claim this and that yet are millionaires. If we really need to spread the wealth, then what the hell are these phonies doing?

They most certainly are, in the form of John McCain. McCain is the one who keeps modifying his positions - commonly called 'flip-flopping' - not the Bushies.

I think he's a (*)(*)(*)(*) fine actor (I love "Nothing In Common", with Jackie Gleason as his dad) and he's also a great American. He has worked tirelessly on behalf of veterans, especially from WWII. He does a lot of good work, and it should be recognized apart from his acting.

Yeah whats up with the Tom Hanks bashing in here??

He is one of the good people in Hollywood. Just because the guy happens to be a liberal some people are going to bash him for no reason.

It was in large part the work of Tom Hanks that got us the WW2 monument. He has worked very hard to raise awareness and respect for veterans of that war.

Furthermore as an actor he probably one of the 10 greatest actors who has ever lived. Who was bashing on Cast Away?? The guy made it a pretty darn good movie and his co-star was a friggin volleyball.

Find me another actor who can get thrown out on a beach with a volleyball for a co-star and still have a major hit and win numerous awards. I think there are a few others who could have pulled it off, but not many.

As far as actors who throw themselves into politics, Hanks isnt really all that outspoken. He finds a few causes, but most of them are bi partisan, such as the WW2 memorial. So what if he names who he wants to win, he has every right in the world to say it.

I think of Tom Hanks as a really good guy. If we are going to bash on Hollywood people there are probably 200 people I would bash on before Tom Hanks.

2. Hillary is taking cheap shots at Obama - Since when is this a good reason to vote for someone? Maybe Obama deserves your sympathy. But your vote? I thought you opposed the war in Iraq. So why vote for Obama? He too wants to stay in Iraq permanently.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was an entertaining documentary. You took some cheap shots at some politicians, but that’s not a good reason for me to vote for those politicians, is it? in Fahrenheit 9/11 you criticized our occupation of Iraq, and yet, Obama intends to deploy permanent bases.

If you want to persuade people to vote for Obama, at least offer some persuasive reasons. “Hillary sucks” and “the current administration sucks” are not good reasons to vote for Obama.
"Taking cheap shots" MM said that was a reason for voting for Obama???
My gawd, MM is the king of cheap shots, he's also the king of stupid.
