lol....There are athletes out there who put most actors and musicians to shame when it comes to humanitarian efforts, charitable work and other things like that.

Yes many athletes have huge ego's....You kind of have to in order to compete at the highest levels. But you would be surprised at how many athletes donate a TON of time, money, and effort to all sorts of great causes.

And why care about how much money they make?? Clearly there is a market for what they do. It is us citizens who are paying their salary.

Same with entertainers....I honestly dont mind that celebrities make such good money because they have gifts that the rest of us dont have, and then the rest of us PAY to see them display those gifts.

I think you misunderstood my post. I didn't talk about their donated time, or that they were looking to get paid for everything they did. I'm talking about them voting Republican because the top paid 1% of Americans pay a lower tax rate than people making $60,000.

People want change and republicans and their canidate is not going to deliver!
McCain was qouted as saying: "Health care needs no fixing people need to eat right and excercise to cut down on health problems". I guess he forgot that cancer, aids, diabeti's, tuberculosous, autism, down sydrome, and the many other formidial diseaes out there can't be fixed with eating and excercise. What an absolutely stupid thing to say from a man you want to vote in office!
Both cancer and diabetes are postponed/prevented through healthy eating and exercise. Someone may be predisposed to cancer, however, many preventive measures can be taken to postpone it, and over 90% of people who develop diabetes were not genetically destined to get it, they got it because of poor eating habits. There are several studies that show high GI foods and obesity cause insulin insensitivity, but I guessed you missed that memo.

Down syndrome and other diseases are actually quite low if giving birth before the age of 30, but the chances increase drastically afterwards as the mother ages.

I would suggest getting a clue before posting nonsense like this in favor of nationalized health care. The chance of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other diseases are rather heavily determined by the quality of our diet and frequency of exercise, and not just genetics. I sprint, lift weights, and eat quality foods to maintain a good body, and quite frankly I do not care if someone is afflicted with some disease prematurely because of their own stupidity. Apparently the answer is to take the most expensive route like pharmaceuticals, frequent doctor visits, and procedures as long as someone else is flipping the bill.

Yeah but I doubt that the majority of athletes in this country are Republicans.

I hate to bring race into it, and it may be unfair...But just looking at the overall demographics of our nation the overwhelming majority of Africa Americans vote Democrat and the majority of American athletes are African American.

But yeah I do think I misunderstood your point....My bad.

First off, 37% of blacks aren't illiterate. According to literacy online, 83% of blacks were literate by the time they reach the 11th grade.

http://www.literacy.org/products/ili...cs/wagner.html

Secondly, black people voting for Obama is not the equivalent of the KKK or a white supremacy group supporting McCain. Black people (and the black power movement) are not a homegrown terrorist organization that freely murdered people like the KKK did for almost 100 years.

Third, are you saying that blacks are not qualified to vote simply because the majority of blacks want to see a black president in their lifetime? It certainly helps that Obama is a democrat who supports issues that many African Americans rally behind.

The racist undertones of your post are very disappointing.

So the black power movement is not a home grown terrorist organization. It must have come from Africa then.

It is racist to make decisions about people on the basis of race. If you vote for Obama because he is black than you are as racist as I would be if I voted for McCain because he wasn't black.

So...if ex-Senator Max Cleland was running for president, and I wanted to vote for him because I was also a double-amputee, that would be wrong?

My thinking would be that a President Cleland would best understand the concerns of people in wheelchairs - have that insight.

My thinking would be that a President Obama would best understand the concerns of people of color - again, have that insight.

That's why they want to vote for him, not just ''cause he's Black'.

lol, you would think...

but the truth is, he is a political elite, who just like the democrat party keep the black people down on purpose rather than help them become a greater part of society...all for their vote.

its quite sad and i would love to go into discussion of this topic.

the democrats cheat the black vote.

That's not really a refutation of my point.
