I listened to the Maklin / Mathews exchange again and I zoned in the the 'self inflicted" and "shot himself" comments. When you put the term self inflicted as Maklin used it and in the tone of her voice she was using it in the manner that means "shot himself. ' She meant "shot himself'. She was repeating what his detractors meant - did it on purpose to get medals.

When the average Joe six-pack hears self inflicted he thinks 'the dude shot himself'. That is exactly what Maklin and the Swifties want Joe six-pack' to think.

From where I live, I was disgusted with mathews attack on Sharpton, (thanx CNBC Europe for showing it ) , well I firmly put it in the racist category. Also Matthews guests he had with him agreed with him, & Matthews had to ask every other person to say what they thought of Sharpton's speech, & he asked them in a way f they felt disgusted by it!
