Default Clinton implies Obama might be assassinated

HILLARY RAISES ASSASSINATION ISSUE
DEFENDS LONG-RUNNING CAMPAIGN

By Geoff Earle

May 23, 2008 --

Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama.

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

Watch a video of the editorial board meeting here.

Clinton made her comments at a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader's editorial board while campaigning in South Dakota, where she complained that, "People have been trying to push me out of this ever since Iowa."

Obama, the first African-American to advance so far in the race for the White House, has faced threats, sources have said.

Robert Kennedy, the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, was gunned down in 1968 after winning the California primary. He had been a hero on the left for his civil rights agenda and calls to end the war in Vietnam.

Barack Obama, who leads Clinton by nearly 200 delegates and has already secured a majority of pledged delegates, has been the subject of threats. Early in the campaign, the Secret Service gave him a security detail at the request of Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Illinois).

Clinton criticized an "urgency" to end the campaign prematurely, saying, "Historically, that makes no sense."

I knew this was coming - and you and the likes will be milking this for weeks.

It was an incredibly STUPID remark for her to make.
She should not have said it.

However, she was referencing Bill campaigning in June and then Bobby.
She's frustrated by the men's club - very frustrated.

But answer me this, were Bill or Bobby asked to quit, WAY BEFORE JUNE, eh? Eh? No. they were not. That was her point.

BUT, she's a woman... and a middleaged woman at that - so guys....dump on her.

Now bring on the posts here that she is already planning to have barack assassinated, come on, come on, don't disappoint me now.

I think the primary season was a bit different back then. Of course she wants him dead, she couldn't beat him for the office she wants, she couldn't kill him with trash about his past so the next option for her is this.

Please don't play the sexism card.

People are "dumping" on her becuse there is no way she can mathematically win without overturning the vote official tally of the popular vote. It's impossible, so they're saying that she can't win. Telling the truth isn't "dumping" on someone.

Also, the election schedules were different in those years. You know how she mentioned California in June? California already voted (for her) in February. I don't understand her logic.

I agree, Hillary is the victim of the sexism and racism of the democrat party. She should be furious about it!

What? you've...got....to.....be.....kidding? And don't "please" me anything, the sexist card has, is and will continue to be played by the others that don't support her.

The math is bad for her, but if she was a man, the calls to quit would not be this massive, they were calling on her to quit after Iowa! Do you not remember that? How obviously sexist is that.

Because Iowa supposedly decides everything or something, which is garbage.

The math was obvious after Super Tuesday, that's when everything really began. Are you seriously telling me that the people that don't support her are sexist?

The math since the Obama implosion is clearly in Hillary's favor. Hillary has won something like 7 of the last 8 primaries, she has the popular vote and the only thing standing in her way of the candidacy is the democrat party's disenfranchisement of Clinton voters in Florida and Michigan.

What ever happened to 'Every Vote Counts'?

Hillary is the better candidate for the democrat party and this ain't anywhere near over yet!
