Default Bill Clinton calls reporter "Scumbag", then blames Obama

BLISTERING BUBBA CALLS FOUL ON FAIR
By KATE SHEEHY

'BAD' BOYS: Bill Clinton with mogul pal Ron Burkle (second from right), owner of a jet dubbed "Air F - - - One."

June 3, 2008 --

Bill Clinton yesterday blasted as a "scumbag" the Vanity Fair scribe who suggested he's hanging with the wrong crowd - a bunch of skirt-chasing, cradle-robbing billionaires, including one whose private jet is dubbed "Air F- - - One."

"He's a real sleazy guy. He's a really dishonest reporter," the former president spewed to another writer about Todd Purdum.

When reminded that Purdum is the hubby of his own former press secretary, Dee Dee Myers, Clinton sniped, "That's all right - he's still a scumbag."

Clinton's diatribe came just after he issued a 2,476-word memo titled "From the Office of President Clinton," ripping Purdum's piece as "tawdry" and "journalism of personal destruction at its worst."

His written retort mainly detailed his global initiatives involving everything from AIDS to obesity.

Later, Jay Carson, a spokesman for Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign, said the ex-president's language "was inappropriate and he wishes he had not used it."

Purdum's blistering article on Clinton opened by recounting a lavish wedding outside Paris co-starring the ex-president and his jet-setting buddies.

Those pals included Ron Burkle, a California supermarket magnate, and Elizabeth Hurley's baby daddy, Steven Bing.

Burkle was accompanied at the August wedding by "an attractive blonde, described by a fellow guest as 'not much older than 19, if she was that,' " the article said.

Burkle owns a custom-designed Boeing 757 that his hangers-on nicknamed "Air F- - - One," Purdum said.

Clinton flew to the gig with Bing, a movie producer who had a son out of wedlock with Hurley and was revealed to have fathered a girl with billionaire Kirk Kerkorian's ex-wife.

Purdum used the wedding to illustrate one of his claims in the article: that Clinton appears to be getting more and more reckless about with whom he associates.

"Over the years, aides have winced at repeated tabloid reports about Clinton's episodic friendship and occasional dinners out with Belinda Stronach, a twice-divorced billionaire auto-parts heiress and member of the Canadian Parliament 20 years his junior," he writes.

Also raising eyebrows has been "more recent, high-end, Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California," the article says.

"There has been talk of a female friend in Chappaqua, a woman in a bar at a meeting of the Aspen Institute, and a public sighting of Clinton, Bing and a ravishing entourage in a New York elevator" that allegedly led a businessman who spotted them to say, "I don't know what [Clinton] was doing, but it was clear that it was just no good."

Clinton - in his "scumbag" rant to blogger Mayhill Fowler of The Huffington Post - first said Purdum's piece was all a conspiracy against his wife, Hillary.

"It's part of the national media's attempt to nail Hillary for Obama," Clinton said. "It's the most biased press coverage in history."

Then it was Obama's fault.

"He gets other people to slime her," he said, referring to a priest's anti-Hillary rants at Obama's former church in Chicago.

Then he went back to targeting Purdum, a former New York Times writer.

"He wrote the story in his head in advance, and he just goes around and tries to find some coward to say whatever they want to say," Clinton said.

The article is very sad indeed, and I would agree, probably written by some slime scumbag.

I do agree the media created this to boost BO one more time, just another jab at Senator Clinton, and one of my favorite Presidents. The Clintons have unimaginable strength!

Yes, isn't it amazing the timing of this article by Vanity Fair? It's just shows you the desperation of the man controlled media frenzy and the obama campaign.

The big dawg called him for what he is - a pure slime scumbag.

JLB, that was not nice. She is really a lovely lady, looking much nicer in person than photos and television.

Bill Clinton is unfaithful to his wife? Say it ain't so.

Most media people are subhuman creatures made up mostly of human waste and pond scum, I'm sure this reporter isn't all that different from the rest.
