Actually thats not entirely true. Both Hillary and Mccain suggested scrapping the gas Tax over the summer.

I'm not saying that isn't retarded, but they could do it.

We will still though, no matter who is elected, have to pay 5$ for gas in the very near future. Even if we get rid the tax, it is only a matter of time before the prices rises beyond that.

Hmm, Rudd has talked about scraping the GST on fuel, but even that would only save us about 3 cents a litre, which is hardly worth it.

Including our state and federal taxes scrapping both would save around 4x as much as you would in Australia.

As well as increase dependency on gasoline.

If someone in the US could lower the cost of oil, our petrol prices would be cheaper, as I have heard that, the more the oil costs in the US, the higher our prices go. This tells me the problem with our petrol prices lie in the US, and the US must fix it, or else we will all have to start walking!

I already pay more than $5 because I have a diesel pickup, and live in California, and Mr O unfortunately will be our next prez, and you should get used to paying $10 per gallon, and you will still be driving cars that barely get 20 MPG.

The democrats will be doing the same thing they have been doing for the last 40 years regarding our secure independence on energy, and increased fuel mileage, which is absolutely, NOTHING!

Exactly!!! I remember Willie Clinton blabbering on and on about alternative fules, etc.... but he accomplished exactly nothing on that front in 8 years!
