So another reason I want to vote for Obama is the abortion topic. I support the right to choose and think government is out of scope in 1) defining when life begins and 2) in making personal health decisions for women. I think there are times, especially under circumstances when the woman's life is in danger, when an abortion should be performed. I am completely and utterly against late-term abortions and absolutely think those should be illegal, unless the mother's life is in danger.

Exactly.

I couldn't very well not vote for the first presidential candidate that I actually trust!

I voted for him (and will again) for many reasons. The most obvious being that I agree with his beliefs more closely than any others. Also, because he talks about things that are important to me than stupid partisan issues. He doesn't only try to score political points. He genuinely wants to improve this country.

I could care less what he does. What's important to me is how he does it. How we interact with the rest of the world. No more of this, "If you're not with us you're against us." I'm tired of having a President who watches too many westerns. International relations are far too complex to have "good guys" and "bad guys". I'm tired of the residual McCarthyism, which leads to accusing a dissenting opinion of being "anti-American."

I think, because I am young, I look farther ahead than my older counterparts. Because of this, a long term change of how things are done is more important to me than health care or even the war.

We need a JFK. Someone who will take responsibility for their mistakes (Bay of Pigs). Someone who will inspire Americans (Ask not...).

I want a President who will lead America and not just their party.

let's stay on topic people, Yeshua - I'm pretty sure that could have been a PM instead of posted on here; this is why Obama threads on policy get derailed.

That could mean a lot of things; you could hyper religious, or you could be a libertarian, but if you liked Bush, you'll love McCain.

I don't hate the President but he has made mistakes

Check the stats...

I couldn't find anything

That's fine with me; as long as he pays for it, and he spends at home, not abroad.

So we have to borrow or tax even more Obama's numbers do not add up

If the government builds a levy to protect your city, it should be able to protect your city. The netherlands has an impentrable system of levies and dikes, because they saw how important it was.

We lose half a major city, and still we debate whether these things should be the government's responsibility.
Okay I agree, so should we imprison the local politicians who misspent the funds??

Because you're an individual in America, you have to pay taxes. Most people get over that as a fact of life at an early age.
Why can people do the work the illegals are doing instead of mooching off me??A family who is on welfare for generations doesn't deserve it period
We can't just keep borrowing.

But, certainly the government needs a warrant to spy on individuals; and Bush/McCain thinks they don't.
I agree I am against spying on AMERICAN Citizens and people here on a legal visa
