You can't have it both ways.
Either Bush is a coward for avoiding the draft or he is a hero for avoiding becoming a war criminal. Kerry is either a hero who betrayed his fellow soildiers when he came back or he was a hero when he came back but was a war criminal that got medals. This is why I think the whole arguement is just for arguement's sake as opposed to being a real issue. |

The reason both parties keep bringing it up is because most people (including here) are dumb enough to get distracted by it.

Look, if Kerry were a serial killer in his 20's I get it. But not a single person in this county is affected in any way whatsoever by Kerry's record in Vietnam or his stance after he got back. Equally, no one is affected by Bush calling in daddy to keep him from going. IT DOESN'T MATTER. The next four years have nothing to do with Vietnam. But since it's the least important aspect of the campaign, that's right where we will focus.
