From CNN:

Quote:
It was unclear exactly whom the cheers and the boos were meant for or why. They began immediately after radio and MTV personality Carson Daly introduced "from New York, Barbara and Jenna Bush and here in Miami, Vanessa and Alexandra Kerry."

I think they were booing out of disappointment because Alexandra Kerry wasn't wearing that see through dress from Cannes.

the crowd DID in fact boo the Bush twins, but what people are surprised about is that they booed the Kerry sisters at all. Frankly, I am not. If Kerry can get booed at a baseball game in his own state, he will certainly be booed at elsewhere. John Kerry is no shoe-in for President. He is becoming increasingly unpopular.

Default Who knows...

Maybe they were booing because they came for music, not politics.

Just telling you what I saw on CNN. All they said about the Bush twins were that they made a vidoe taped appearance but didn't comment on the crowds reaction. The point of my post was, numbnuts, that I had misjudged the MTV crowd - I would have expected them to boo the Bushes. I just didn't think they would the Kerry's. I HAD THE WRONG IMPRESSION OF THAT GROUP WHICH MEANS I WAS ADMITTING FAULT IN JUDGING AN ENTIRE GROUP OF PEOPLE. Where's the spin?

Default Good Gracious -- if you get your news from Drudge . . .

what do you expect?

Both sets of daughters were announced together (the Bush twins were announced first) and the booing began. It was pretty clear that the boos were aimed at the Bush daughters who decided not to attend. It was the Kerry daughters trying to quiet the crowd so that the Bush daughters could be heard (a nice gesture I believe) and finally the MTV people had to silence the audio from the audience so that the Bush twins video greeting could even be heard. After the Bush twins were done, there were vastly more cheers for the Kerry daughters.

The Kerry daughters did a nice thing and tried to show respect for the Bush twins right to address the MTV Awards on videotape but what they got in return was being smeared by Matt Drudge with lies and then the Repuke sheeples in here coming and quoting Matt Drudge verbatim.

MTV's broadcast turned down sounds of the audience during the playing of the video, but the vocal audience could still be heard.

The Bush twins are 22 years old. Vanessa Kerry is 27; Alexandra turns 31 on Sunday.

The boos seemed to die down and cheers took their place toward the end of the segment, when the Kerry daughters took back the floor

Try to get your facts straight please. Lies only besmirch you and your party and your candidate.

Just saw an interview with one of the Kerry's daughters on CNN where she states "I grabbed my sister and said 'what's happening'. I was shocked at their reaction but it doesn't matter."

All I did was repeat what I saw the first time and then this time and credited both to CNN. It was an observation - not an opinion or stating of facts. I don't really care - just thought it was interesting. I didn't expect it. In the future, I'll try to be a little clearer.

I love how things like "Rock the Vote" pretend to be non-partisan...no one, including, apparently, the audience at the VMA, is fooled.

Catz
I was thinking the same thing. If the people in the crowd could hold up signs saying '"Vote Kerry" or "Democrat" they would, but they have to pretend this whole this is non-partisan. I think the whole Rock the Vote thing is misleading in the first place. They are just saying "go and vote, who cares who you vote for just do it." I think MTV should try to educate the young people on the parties, candidates, etc. so people are educated on the subjects when they go to the polls.

Also, did anyone find the Kerry daughters to be ugly? You can definately tell they are John Kerry's daughters (i.e. - long face)...hahaha

Default A lie Hidden within a truth - insidious form of lie

Jim hocomb said 'The Kerry daughters were boo'ed relentlessly at the MTV Music Video awards when they ask the crowd to vote for their father. Although very rude of the crowd, very surprising as well. '
Quote:

The truth is that both were booed .... The truly sad case here is that once again we are subjected to Twistology - the act of presenting a lie by twisting the truth beyond recognition. That is a most insidious, despicable shameful, vile, and loathsome form of lying. But it works; it is used successfully by y people like the Drug Addict Rush Limberger, The Drudge, and Lying Lips Hannity who employ this often.
