Default An Opportunity for McCain

Tomorrow morning, he goes on live TV. He says that when he announced he was going to run for President, he said he would run a respectable campaign and not tolerate the same kinds of things that were done against him in 2000. To back this up, he fires Charlie Black. He tells America, "this campaign will not try to scare you into voting for me. We will run on issues, issues, issues and nothing but issues. Saying that a terror attack would benefit this campaign is fear mongering in the extreme. I will not tolerate it."

Any bets?

While I would openly applaud that move on this forum, I don't think it will happen. If it does however, I will start a thread openly prasing that move by McCain first thing tomorrow.

Default It's okay if it's honest

Just my opinion here, but I don't think that a fear-based campaign is necessarily "dirty", if it's honest to the American people.

How is "vote for me or Osama might kill you" an "honest" campaign?

Well if it ends with, "I'm Osama Bin Laden and I approve this message" than its probably legit. Might raise afew eyebrows though.

Thank you for the neg rep, "Spare." I'm sorry that you don't think McCain's chief adviser saying the GOP would benefit from a terror attack is a thread that is "worth your time." Maybe instead of reading threads with some actual political substance, you should continue to focus on the ubiquitous "Obama is a MOOSLIM" threads. There's a BUNCH of those.

Typical liberal manuever, huh?

You neg rep me for "not much of an input", and then complain when I tell you it isn't "much of a thread to input to". My comment was obviously an attempt at humor, probably a distinction you missed.

Pontificating on what a candidate might, or might not, say is a waste of time, when you already have a body of work, from either candidate, that can be studied.

Political substance? Surely you jest .... or is that your attempt at humor?

As for the gist of your thread, given the number of Obama advisers that have been dismissed (Rev Wright, Rezko, Johnson, Michelle's makeover, etc, etc), I hardly think McCain's comment rises to the level of interesting.

When was Rezko an "adviser"? Who was dismissed for Michelle's "makeover"? Are you makin' stuff up AGAIN???

I figured "adviser" was a better term than co-conspirator, or bagman. We're not even going to explore the relationship between Obama and Daley's political machine.

Surely, you have noticed that Michelle has been put on a short leash .... she is the adviser that has been "modified".
