I stand corrected

the poll numbers are:

McCain 50
Obama 45

Margin of error 4.5%

McCain is winner

here are the missouri averages

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...obama-545.html

this is one of those states where the race is close enough the closeness may endup hurting obama b/c he will campaign there but really doesn't have a good chance to win. thats why i'm glad that mac has a big defeset in wisconsin b/c i don't want him wasting recourses in a state he won't win anyday. remember its the electoral college not the popular vote that matters. losing by 1 million in a state is the same as losing by 1 vote.

Well, if we are comparing Obama's negatives. Wow. He is skyrocketing. 1 out of 3 people look at obama very negatively in Missouri.

Not good polling numbers to begin with.

quite phenomenal. obama's money isn't winning him votes.

As it would appear. Its still early yet--eventually money will come through. Unfortunately, it always does. Of course, McCain did lead Obama by +15 in Missouri 4 months ago...

$4,600 $12,199,200 2652 $4,600

$286,236,779 1500338

You can see in column 3 the total is around the 1.5 million donors consistent with Team Obama's statements

On average donors in this category have apparently given an average of $98 ...which is considerably more than the populist message of having an account fueled by five, ten and twenty bucks per person.

Anyone want to check the math? Whats going on? Is Obama telling a whopper when he claims that people are sending in such small amounts?

Also the Obama web site has a pull down address menu which anticipates donations from about 150 different countries some of which are traditionally hostile to Americans. Perhaps someone is aware how Team Obama ensured overseas donations were from only American citizens/greencard holders? Do they have an analysis showing monies received from overseas? Will the FEC have access to the bank records?

Whats most difficult to explain is why the category of below $200 represents 46% of Obama's total and only 23% of Clinton's total of over $200 million.

Are Clinton supporters considerably richer, or simply more committed to their candidate? Or could it be because Clinton's web site did not have a pull down menu for foreign residents....nor did that of John McCain .

FYI ,the Federal Election Commission website has a list of all the people who allegedly donated to all the campaigns. Its unwieldy...unless there is a data-whiz in the house!

Wonder who supplied the bookkeepers/procedures for this campaign that started back in January 2007. Surely not Syrian-born Tony Rezko who has been known to show up when Obama needed business advice? Then who?

http://obamawtf.blogspot.com/2008/06...donations.html

Well, I'm just not seeing that pull down menu on the Obama site. Your link was to an obviously anti-Obama blog.

That analysis is just silly.

He won Missouri too.
That reflects Democrats, not the whole state.

So let's do the math:

He won Missouri with 49.2% of the Democratic vote.

If one assumes that Dems make up half the population (a mildy anti-Obama assumption), that means he drew the support of 24.6% of the state's voters.

So now he has the support of 45% (or 47%) of the voters. Looks like he's doubled his support. That's huge!! And he's just getting started!!

I still say polls mean nothing at this point, one way or the other.
